Posted project update #5Mission Countdown
Post CommentGreetings Orbit(Film) Astronaut Appreciation Society—
Thanks once again for joining this elite club. For all you Sergei Krikalev fans, lovers of Byron K. Lichtenberg, and even those rare admirers of the one and only Eugene Cernan: these men and women are pleased to be getting their day in the sun—or in the night sky, as the case may be.
To reward you for your fandom, you will soon be receiving decals, posters, shirts, DVDs, and phone calls from the planet Neptune. With the films 99% complete, we have officially begun the countdown: we will be producing the DVD at the end of August, and shipping materials soon thereafter. Via Kickstarter, we will soon send you a questionnaire asking for your top secret information, so we can know where to send your fan club goodies. Please keep an eye on your inbox.
In the meantime, your donations have helped us pay off our space debt and acquire hard drives for screenings in New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia and beyond. (It’s amazing, these new drives, you can even rip DVDs while on the Bolt Bus. Space technology at its finest!) More screenings are coming up soon:
+ August 4-11: Outdoors at Pluk de Nacht (Amsterdam, Netherlands) http://www.plukdenacht.nl/special_programme/
+ September 29: UW Cinematheque (Madison, WI) http://cinema.wisc.edu/
+ October 17: On a planetarium ceiling screen at SPACE Gallery at The USM Southworth Planetarium (Portland, ME) http://www.space538.org/event_details.php?id=932
+ October 24: San Francisco Film Society http://www.sffs.org/screenings-and-events.aspx
+ November 9: Northwest Film Forum (Seattle, WA) http://www.nwfilmforum.org/
Info at www.orbitfilm.com
Hop in your rocket ship and join us if you can, or wait till your space suit arrives and journey to space in the comfort of your living quarters. See you soon, Orbiteers.

Posted project update #4Launched!
Post CommentDear Members of the Orbit(Film) Astronaut Appreciation Society--
Thank you for providing the fuel for our rocket! With all of you pushing from below, Orbit(Film) will be officially launched just as NASA's space shuttle missions come to an end. The conclusion of one space adventure and the start of another. We're thrilled that we'll be able to polish off the films properly, screen them in HD, distribute them widely, and reward you all with DVDs, t-shirts, decals, and more. (Goodies will be mailed within a few weeks.)
Our first official screening of the final films will be Saturday, July 23, at Rooftop Films in Brooklyn. Details: http://rooftopfilms.com/2011/schedule/orbit-film-1/
Please come join us for the liftoff!
Thanks,
Mike, Mark & all the Orbit Filmmakers

Posted project update #3New Space Tourist Level Added
And now, for a limited time only, we’ve added a bonus level:
* * DENNIS TITO * *
In honor of the first fee-paying space tourist, if you pledge $40,000,000.00 USD you will receive a private screening of Orbit(Film) in outer space. We will arrange to fly you 62 miles above the Earth’s surface, beyond the Karman line and into the thermosphere, where you can become the first human being ever to watch independent experimental short films . . . in zero gravity! The DVD is yours to keep.
Pledge now and we’ll even rename this level after you. Thanks!

This is without a doubt, THE coolest reward I've seen on Kickstarter. My question is this -- do you still get the Orbit(Film) Decal as well and is travel to the launchsite included? Thanks!
You can now buy all our Orbit(Film) gifts--DVDs, posters, stickers, glow-in-the-dark t-shirts--from our website: www.orbitfilm.com.
