    Back from Sundance

    Dear friends,

I'm back at home after my whirlwind trip to Sundance. The film played four times to sold out crowds and the response was excellent.

You can see pictures and press about THE THING and our Sundance premiere here.

If you haven't already, please "like" THE THING on Facebook and sign up for our mailing list.

Now that the dust has settled all incentives that haven't gone out yet will be delivered within the next month.

Thanks again to YOU for making this happen!

Please help us get to Sundance!

    THE THING IS IN SUNDANCE!

But we need your help to get there.

As you may know The Thing, was recently selected to premiere at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. There was stiff competition-- over 7,600 were shorts submitted and only 64 were selected. As you can imagine, I'm thrilled! However I also face a serious challenge.

Finishing the film involves a lot of hard costs, including color correction, sound mix, output to HD tape, as well as the cost of attending the festival. I'm facing $5,000 in expenses.
The Thing was my MFA thesis. Having just finished graduate school, I'm still trying to get on my feet financially and can't afford these costs.

I recently launched another Kickstarter to raise the necessary funds to bring the film to Sundance and hope that you can help me with your contribution.
The film only gets funded if I reach my goal of $5,000, so every donation counts. No amount is too small but higher donations come with special perks. Rewards available include limited a edition 11x17 print used in the film, signed DVD copies, invitations to a Los Angeles area private screening party, and more.

On it you'll find a video I made that includes a trailer for the film. It's only three minutes long and I promise it'll amuse you.

Please consider donating. And forward widely! Email forwards, Facebook posts, Tweets, everything helps.

    Thank you!

    Rhys
