Posted project update #21Photos of Color LEDs
Backers,
In just a few days we’ll send out the remaining Kickstarter surveys to collect up-to-date Green and Yellow Jersey Backer information (i.e. t-shirt size, shipping address, etc.). Please respond quickly so we're prepared when ready to ship.
Also, please note, Green & Yellow Jersey Backer t-shirts have not been sent. They will be packaged and shipped with the Revolights.
In terms of the CUSTOM Revolights for Yellow Jersey Backers only, below are photos of the color LEDs (disclaimer: colors may look slightly different in person). Per Kickstarter Update #8, options include:
White, Pink, Red, Orange, Yellow, or Green.

Feel free to use these photos as a reference when making your color decision, and keep your eyes peeled for the survey!

Make sure to publish the patent numbers once you get them, so we can have a look. Great stuff...

@Ryan & @SeanTalts: Legit question. And thanks! We definitely considered doing aluminum tools, and in fact for development of some of the more complex designs we did have them made. The problem with using 'em for production on Revos is that while we are making ~900 sets for Kickstarter, each set consists of 4 rings, and each ring has multiple components. While some are in lower quantity, many components have very fine features (like ultrasonic weld energy directors). In the end there's only a few parts that could be done in aluminum (unfortunately not the most expensive ones). Not to mention the price difference (aluminum vs. steel tools) for some of these vendors is surprisingly minimal; only like 20% cheaper. Keep the comments coming!

Just sayin...... I have a book light that uses a clear thick plastic sheet to illuminate the entire page because the light flows through the plastic like fiber optics. Would it be possible to use this idea to make a plastic air foil assembly that not only protects the entire "Lighting System" and in addition aids more diffused and directed light while providing an air foil and weather resistant covering? It wouldn't have to be clear.

Just wanted to check in and let our GREEN and YELLOW Jersey backer know that you should not have received any of your rewards yet. They are all to be shipped with your light sets in March in order to ensure that we use all of the funding in the most efficient manner possible. Doubling up on shipping costs would not allow us to maximize the funds we are putting into the design. Thanks for your continued understanding and patience. We are very excited about getting all of your rewards shipped in March! Thanks Again, Kent, Adam and Jim

@ William, thanks for the question. We're planning on shipping all rewards for the GREEN and YELLOW jersey backers in March. We're really focusing our efforts to utilize the funding provided by all of you backers in the best way possible. This means not incurring 2x shipping costs by sending rewards out in two separate shipments. We really feel this allows us to put as much as we can into getting you a great set of lights. Thanks for your understanding and continued patience! Jim

Posted project update #17The Peloton, Polka Dot, & White Jersey Backer Fulfillment...
All,
The first shipment of the exclusive Revolights Kickstarter merchandise has officially shipped! What to expect (1 - 5 day shipping; potentially longer int'l):
The Peloton backers = thank you cards
White Jersey backers = thank you cards + both decals
Polka Dot Jersey backers = thank you cards + both decals + exclusive Kickstarter t-shirt
Here's a photo of the thank you card design.
Here's a photo of the logo decal design (for sticking anywhere bikes exist!)...
...and the Kickstarter specific decal design.
Here's a photo of the shirts prepped and ready to go.

Thanks again to all of our project backers for your support. We look forward to fulfilling our commitments to the Green and Yellow Jersey backers in March '12. Thanks again for your patience.
