Posted project update #2Northeast ride status and updates
Post Commenthello fantastic backers,
While there is still technically time for a mysterious benefactor to swoop in and save the kickstarter project, unfortunately I don't think that's going to happen.
Fortunately, however, I have some good news!
We've been exploring several angles for funding this tour and while Kickstarter might not have been that route, we're having success with our sponsor approaches and getting some business backing for the ride. Woohoo!
Because we're still formalizing what these partnerships will entail, we're holding of on announcing them officially. But we can say that with confidence, we'll be making this ride happen. Some of those partnerships have come to us through these outreach channels, so thank you so much for your support so far, and for helping us get the word out!
We've added the sponsorship form to the website, so if you know anybody that's interested, please pass this information along to them.
We'll also be adding pre-registration to the website too - so if you were really hoping to give somebody the gift of the Northeast Ride for Christmas, we can still make that happen!
We're also announcing our new hire - Amber Collett. After graduating from St. Olaf College, Amber worked as a community organizer and communications/ fundraising specialist with Green Corps, the Minnesota Public Interest Research Group (MPIRG), Transit for Livable Communities, and Bike Walk Twin Cities.
Amber brings a great blend of Bike/Walk experience to compliment my Northeast/Arty experience, and I'm excited to be working with her.
If you want to stay updated on the tour, I encourage you to keep checking the website, facebook page and twitter feed.- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/NortheastRide

Thank you again for your excitement and support!

Posted project update #1A Golden Ticket for the ride!
Post CommentHello awesome backers and potential backers,
The Northeast ride is a long way off, and we've got a lot of planning to do before we get there. This Kickstarter helps us ensure we'll have the resources we need to actually make it happen.
In addition to some cool rewards and sponsorship benefits, we're also taking early registrations. With two inches of snow on the ground so far, we think the gift of a summer bike ride will be a big hit. Treat yourself, somebody else, or both!
Those who register early via Kickstarter will get a t-shirt, a sticker, and a commemorative "Golden Ticket." If you choose the gift package, a Golden Ticket will be sent out in a gift-wrapped box to your intended recipient. You can see a draft of the Golden Ticket design below.
Thanks for supporting the Northeast Ride!
