It's a great surprise to see my daughter's high school on the list! It's a great school, open to innovation.

Sorry about that, Cory. Thanks for stepping in with the solution, Josh. There was no way of doing check boxes for the info request.

@Santosh I'm afraid that we don't have the size or infrastructure to send a kit to India. At least not yet. There are also legal hurdles to overcome sending biological reagents across international borders. For the time being, Otyp is going to be confined to the US.

We Made it! Otyp's Kit will be in at least 12 schools! Nominate a High School near you!

    Hello, World!

Thanks to the generous pledges from our wonderful backers, we have made it to our $10,000 goal! That means that all the prizes will definitely be sent out!

By the most recent tally, the SPEAK SCIENCE Fund was at $5905, which means that we will be able to take nomination for 9 different high schools to receive free Cloning a Fluorescent Gene kits and equipment leases. (We're $95 away from a tenth school, so hopefully a few donations will keep coming in!)

On top of those 9-10 schools from the SPEAK SCIENCE Fund, three generous backers have decided to support a school of their choice.

Nominees for the 9-10 Speak Science Fund Kits will be taken as soon as our Kickstarter project ends next Monday. We want to send the kits to AP Biology or Biology II classes (2nd year classes), so those nominees will take priority. First year Biology classes will also be eligible to receive SSF Kits.

Now is the time to send out some emails to school principals, superintendents, biology teachers, and curriculum coordinators in your community. See if they are interested in getting advanced science into their classrooms! They can check out http://gen.otyp.es for some more details about what the kits actually contain.

If those people have any direct questions for us, they should contact David Peyer: david at otyp.es

Once the project finishes, we're going to start taking nominees, and then have our backers vote on which schools to receive a kit. We'll organize the details once we see how many nominees we have.

    We love you guys,
    Otyp
