We didn't make it, but hope is not lost.

    Fans, Friends and Family,

We are deeply humbled by the generosity that has been displayed during the course of this campaign.  We regret to inform you that we have not made our goal to fund this project.  However, we are still determined to make this album happen, and we are going to do whatever it takes to see it through to the end.  Stay tuned to our project, and look for updates on

    http://www.matthewsantos.com/

If you have not done so already, please sign up for our email list - which you can do from our homepage, click the free download link- sign up and get a free download.

We are going to regroup, and come up with a different game plan.   Expect to see a new Santos album by September 2011.

Thanks again for your support.  See you soon.

    One week to go

    Greetings Friends and Family,

Thank you so much to all who have pledged to help keep this project alive.

We are about one week away from our deadline, and unfortunately we are not even 1/4 of the way to our goal.  We are hoping to rally this week and raise the last $15,000 to make this project happen.

We also feel we need to shed some light on Matthew's financial situation, as many people have expressed to us that they "assume Matthew is rich" because of his Grammy-nom, and his history with Lupe Fiasco.   So here it is in plain English.

Matthew gets no royalties for Superstar, or anything he did with Lupe aside from the Late Night tv appearances, maybe 8 bucks here and there. Seriously.

In fact, Matthew has been supporting himself for the past 5 years by performing his own music, not from the little money he received from Lupe.

Matthew is not rich by any means and struggles to pay his bills just like the rest of us.   Sure you see all the hype and success of Lupe Fiasco and you assume that everyone is laughing all the way to the bank.  Not everyone.

We are only using this Kickstarter platform because we seriously have no other option.  We don't have backing from a major label, nor any private investors, nor a bank account full of "all the money" Matthew made with Lupe.

So we are graciously and humbly asking our loyal fans for help. If everyone of our fans on FB pledged $5 we would meet our goal.  If everyone of our Myspace fans pledged $1 we would meet our goal.

If you have already pledged, thank you for your support, it means the world to us and we are very grateful.  Please encourage your like-minded friends and family to pledge as well.

We are still confidant that we can make our goal, and we hope you will help us spread the word about this wonderful project that is struggling to survive in a dog-eat-dog industry.

    Please.

Thanks in advance.  Much love to you all.

    Week One

Wow, its the end of week one of our Kickstarter campaign and we feel truly grateful for all the pledges that have been made.  We are hoping that those who have pledged will now join us in spreading the word and getting others to pledge.  Any amount helps, and remember with Kickstarter it is all or nothing.... we still have a ways to go, but we are optimistic that we will reach our goal.  Much Love
