Posted project update #6The Re-cap
Post CommentDear Backers,
We all wanted to let you know that we have seen some of the very preliminary video shots for the film and they are remarkable. The editing is in process, but we hope to have something for you sooner rather than later. We'll let you know when we have it.
We'll also be sending surveys over the next few weeks to gather the information we need to send your rewards. It'll take us a bit, but we're working on it.
In the meantime, here is a link to a (not overly sentimental, I hope) re-cap of the installation and another photo on our blog.
In solidarity, and with gratitude,
Naomi, Susan, Isa, Katie and the OMB team

Posted project update #5The installation you helped create
Post CommentDear Backers,
Thank you again for your help in making the 50,000 Bones Preview Installation possible. We're settling back in to work after the run-up, installation, and some much needed R&R afterwards.
We'll have more information for you as we go, but please share our great joy at a beautiful, profound and successful event. This photo helps capture the event.

Posted project update #3Halfway there and other fantastic news!
Hello all you generous backers!
We’ve got wonderful updates to share with you!
First off, we’ve hit the halfway mark of our fundraising goal. That’s right half pledged and half to go. Please continue to share us with your friends and colleagues; that’s how we’ll make it the rest of the way.
With only 17 days until the 50,000 Bones Preview Installation, we cannot contain our excitement!! And this is where our plans stand:
Choreography for the laying of the bones is coming along nicely and all those attending the Volunteer Orientations will get a sneak peek at what Shira, from Keshet Dance Company, has designed for us!
One Million Bones Project Manager, Susan got a phone call from the Mayor’s Office yesterday… Our Permit has been approved: We’re Closing Down Central Avenue!
And, we’re finally ready to announce our National Speakers! (Drum Roll please) We have J.D. Steir the Campaign Manager for Raise Hope for Congo at the Enough Project; Carl Wilkens, the only American who didn’t leave Rwanda in 1994 during the genocide and founder of World Outside My Shoes; Kigabo Mbazumutima from Mapendo New Horizions, Yves Muya from Falling Whistles and Eric Ndaheba, survivor of the Gatumba Massacre in Burundi.
August 27th is going to be a remarkable day in Albuquerque, and everyone of you who has donated is making that possible.
In Solidarity and with Great Appreciation,
Naomi, Susan, Isa, Katie and the rest of the OMB Team!
PS...we've started making bones for all of you...here's a photo of some of them.

Posted project update #2We've got a new video for you!
Post CommentHi friends!
This past week we've been working on a new video especially for this Kickstarter campaign. All of the staff are featured, our National Liaison, Kathleen, did the editing and we are thrilled to share it with you! It's posted here on our page so take a minute to take a look. And please, share it with people. We still have a way to go to reach our goal but we know we can make it with your help.
And, tomorrow, we'll post our bloopers reel on youtube so you can check that out for a laugh. Sometimes the weight of the work we do is unbelievably heavy; genocide and the suffering of so many millions of people is one of the saddest things most of us can imagine. But our OMB staff manages to find moments of joy and laughter because we think we're helping to make a difference. So watch the blooper reel and share a laugh with us, but be sure to spread the word about what we're doing.
The time for action and awareness is now! For Sudan and South Sudan, for Congo with elections coming up and for Burma with the recent freedom of Aung San Suu Kyi the world has a chance to help turn those hopeful steps into leaps. Our 50,000 Bones Installation is vital right now to keep awareness up, and this Kickstarter campaign is imperative to make the installation happen. We need you to help make a difference, too!
In solidarity and with great appreciation,
Naomi, Susan, Isa, Katie and the OMB team

Posted project update #1One Million Bone's First Update
Post CommentHello all you wonderful supporters!
First, THANK YOU, for your generosity. We still have a ways to go, but we know we're going to reach our goal and you all gave us the foundation from which to do it!
We're still putting the word out to people about the campaign and anything you can do to help spread the word is also greatly appreciated.
Plans for the 50,000 Bones Preview are coming along: We have 75 confirmed volunteers, over 25,000 bones in our office ready to go, the amazing Shira, from Keshet, is going to help us orchestrate the performance aspect, and there's an incredible buzz of excitement around the office.
Next week should see the posting of our first video update, so look for that, and in the meantime, talk us up whenever you can.
In solidarity, and with gratitude,
Naomi, Susan, Isa, Katie, Kat and the rest of the OMB team!

Wonderful vision, beautiful video, many hands in the effort have led to this stunning result! Deborah
