Hey Jon, the game is still planned for completion but production has been forced into an unfortunate hiatus. The team has split onto separate projects for the time being. I am still committed to complete Rapstar Heroes, and I will endeavor to do so as soon as possible. I'll be sure to add updates to this space as they become warranted. Feel free to contact me directly for further details. Your (everybody's) patience thus far is very appreciated. Michael (Pisano) mpisano11@gmail.com

Posted project update #5Latest and Greatest
Post CommentHello, everyone!
We are rounding the home stretch with the asset creation for the game, and working up a level designer (a program which will allow us to build levels, change assets, and script events very quickly). The level designer is separate from the actual engine, which means that we will be able to tackle new game designs quickly and efficiently, as well as being able to eventually let the players add their own assets and levels to Rapstar Heroes!
Check out the latest (& last) wave of Kickstarter donor characters: our two enemies, Cueball and Dr. Wolf, and a teaser of the final boss LIQUID BONEZ. Also be sure to listen to the Shindiggaz-produced Rapstar commercial and "Purple Mushroom," a new track from DJ Thermos.

Posted project update #4A big thank you to all of our backers!
Post CommentTo everyone who supported Rapstar Heroes, we would like to say THANK YOU! We now have the financial backing we need to finish this game before starving to death. We have been rather busy drawing, coding, and congratulating each other the past couple of days, and we realized that we owe everyone an update! So here it is:
[note: the images appear below, for some reason]
First up, some background characters!
Here is Dan Papasian's character, a mystical warp-world jungley hand-drummer:
and Alia Lubers'ses's character, an anarchistic yinzer:
The graffiti is almost all complete, and will be sent out via e-mail to all the donors later today. In an attempt to keep some surprises for the release, we will not post all of them all here, but keep an eye on your inboxes for some sweet tags.
And for a final update, the new World Map:
Thank you all again for your help, and we look forward to bringing you the greatest Pittsburgh flavored extra-terrestrial, hip-hopping, side-scrolling beat-'em-up platforming hybrid that the world has ever known.
Sincerely,
-The Nitric Burn Team

Posted project update #1Rapstar Heroes: The Core Features
Post CommentFirstly, thanks for all our initial backers and support. It's been really fun getting the word about the project out, and encouraging that people are excited to play the finished game. We have a development blog up on the Nitric Burn site here ( http://www.nitricburnstudios.com/index.php... ). As we go forward, we will start highlighting some of the best aspects of the game. To start with, here's a quick run down of the major features:
- Sidescrolling beat'em up levels.
- Mario style platforming.
- Two dimensions to warp between.
- Three playable characters.
- Persistent save games, statistics, levels and achievements.
- Experience points which can be spent on 8 different upgrade paths.
- Five unlockable weapon upgrades per character.
- Three unique abilities per character (such as double jump, glide, and slow-motion).
- Stage based high scores that intergrate with a global high schore system.
- And much much more...
