Thank you guys. <3 Yeah, I think securing the funds would at least be a reasonable idea. I understand not taking the money until the goal is reached... but retracting after it ends. . . Im still in shock. Im just staying hopeful that they will resolve this in a civil manner.

    Bitter Sweet Update

    Hello All Backers,

My campaign has come to an end, it is showing that I reached my goal and far exceeded it by 215%. sadly, this is not the case. What should have been a great day of celebration for all of us has turned into a confusing nightmare for everyone involved.

Shortly after my campaign ended, yesterday, one very large pledge of $10,000 was canceled by one of my backers. How this is possible, I have no clue. I am very devastated and confused on how to react to this current situation. This backer stated that they had meant to make a pledge of only $25, but instead made the pledge amount of $10,000 and confirmed it over a week ago by accident. Honestly I am still in shock over that part. But, what is more upsetting, is that Kickstarter makes no attempt to "secure" the pledge amounts once made, and as I stated, they will let anyone cancel their charitable donation even after the campaign has ended and gone into the payment collection process.

This way of doing business has caused even further transaction problems as 6 other transactions were also unsuccessful. One being the other backer that knowingly gave me $10,000. Now this is an inconvenience for this backer as well as me. Again I ask, what kind of company does not secure the amounts pledged before alerting the campaign owner that there project is indeed successful and will be funded on the end date. $10,000 is a lot for any credit card company to just simply approve. Shouldn't further action be required to make sure this exact problem doesn't occur? I can't be the first person that this has happened to. Some people have raised hundreds of thousands of dollars using this site. They can't have all gone smoothly.

So over the past month, while in the mindset of being a success, I have been making arrangements, placing orders and starting production. I am at a loss. I only received a little over 1k and this was after kickstarter took their fees out. Now this leaves me obligated to provide these rewards. It leaves everyone else to believe that I was a great success in reaching over 21k. This makes me look bad to all of my clients, friends and fans if I cant uphold my end of the deal.

I am trying to sort all of this out right now. Please be patient with me as I try to make sense of this all. I will keep everyone updated as much as possible.

Thank you again for all of your support and I am sorry again for all the confusion. -Nick

        Heya Sweets,
This is so bloody terrible I cannot start to imagine how stressed you must be!! :(
I too agree that this is shocking and unbelievable.
I received a message yesterday saying my donation had been refused due to 'credit' issues or something of the like. I was so pissed off, as I always make sure I have funds before I donate to anything!!! And why had they left it so long to contact me???? Let alone at the END of your campaign??!!! NOT GOOD ENOUGH KICKSTARTER!!!!
I so hope this all gets rectified soon hun....what sort of organisation says you've raised funds when they haven't even taken the donations for you??? CRAZY.

        wow
so ill be honest: i understood that my donation wouldnt be taken out of my account until the end of your project. that makes sense since its a complete wash to donate to a cause that, in the end, cant make the drive its going for. its actually the great advantage of kickstarter (that the backers only support successful events). however i also thought it was to the benefit of the charity in that they could get the entire lump sum of what is needed on a predefined/preagreed upon date. what is surprising is that although the backers can cancel their donations [i knew this] that the cancelation can be AFTER the enddate of the promotion! this can only cause tumult & drama. genuinely so sorry youre dealing with this bs.

This is a great and very innovative project! Congats on making your goal. But now, what will you do with your project now that the S.510 bill has been passed? It's such a ridiculous bill, and it will change everything in this country that pertains to farming, and makes private gardening illegal.
