I know that many of our backers hail from the San Francisco Bay Area so I wanted to alert you about our latest good news that Mosquita y Mari will be screening in competition at this year's San Francisco International Film Festival. As a team we are so honored to have been selected and we're super excited to be able to give some of you an opportunity to experience MyM on the big screen! I'll be in attendance and I'm working on getting some of the cast and crew out for the Q&A after the screenings.
The SF Film Festival is a wildly popular fest so their screenings tend to sell out. We encourage you to buy tickets early on so as to avoid the long lines and possibly not getting in! To buy tickets go here: http://festival.sffs.org/films/film_details.php?id=65

We are super happy to report that MyM has been picked up for distribution by Wolfe Releasing! http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118049826?refCatId=13
Not only will we make the festival/college runs this year, after having our world premiere at Sundance, but you can also expect MyM to make its way to theaters in select U.S. cities and be available on dvd/vod. This is amazing for a small indie film like ours. Imagine less than a year ago we met our kickstarter goal to go into production and now we're planning our theatrical release. All our hard work and unwavering faith in this project has manifested...SI SE PUDO!

We hope you've had a great start to your 2012!
We wanted to give you just a small taste of the work we were able to do last year thanks to all of your support. We also wanted to let you know that during our time at the upcoming Sundance Festival in Park City we will have all of you in our hearts. Our community of MyM supporters will be present in spirit. This thought gives us tremendous strength as we venture into the world with our film!

I'm a brown girl and proud to have been able to contribute to your dream. I'm also so inspired by the community of souls that I am a part of in backing your effort. I believe we want to see films that reflect our own realities. What you have done means so much to so many and truly it's like standing at the edge of the ocean. You can see only so far but you know that there is so much more. And that was demonstrated in the short film about the making of MyM. Brava for your dedication to the youth of the LA. Sometimes we don't know what we can do until someone shows us. I could see possibility in their faces and that is beautiful. So sight unseen I proudly claim this film as my own. Peace, Michelle
