We're blending physical theatre with classic text in hopes to connect with audiences that usually, y'know... kinda hate Shakespeare.

Posted project update #2Bristol
The Bristol Renaissance Faire, on the Illinois/Wisconsin border, is one of the biggest and best faires in the country.. I was delighted to be juried in to their marketplace, and now have one season there under my belt. This past weekend was the first one of season two. It was HOT and humid, but people were out in droves.
I had made a limited run Tudor Rose pin for this season. I made twelve, and have already sold six!
I'm now looking ahead to weekend two (as well as weekends three through nine!) The weather's supposed to be great, and I'm excited!

Posted project update #1This weekend...
Post CommentI'm out in the wilds of Beaver Dam Wisconsin this weekend, for a one-day Medieval Faire tomorrow (June 19.) This is a fund-raising event for the Dodge County YMCA, which will receive the vendors' fees and the take at the ticket gate. The woman who put this together knows what she's doing - she and her husband have done Medieval Faires for years, as part of the Camelot Historical Project, which brings medieval history - including actual knights in shining armor! - into local classrooms.
This is going to be a small faire, but it has been well-advertised. It is close enough to Bristol that it will being out a lot of folks from there, so many of the patrons will already be familiar with my work. The weather is supposed to be great, too.
I'm at a Super 8 motel right now - their room rate is $70, but I'm sharing with another vendor, so I only have to pay half of that. I'm going to grab some food at the local family diner thingie, then go to bed early... set-up on site has to be done by 8:00AM!
