I'm sorry for the delay some of you are experiencing in receipt of the awards you are to receive in the the U.S. Mail. Some of it is due to the necessary testing of the hand held transmitters, and some of it is because of the following:
We've had our share of setbacks, with a key crew member suffering a personal tragedy (a house fire) that has forced him to cease his valuable contributions to prosthetics and robotics. Everything was destroyed including the Georgie Boy head, Smoochie Pooch dog, materials, tools, etc. We wish him well and press on as good Burners should-- materials are getting replaced and we are using much of the same skin components that came with the Elvis robotic head and doing everything we can to significantly shape his new "look" to that of Georgie Boy. Lightnin' and Miko removed his hair, plucked his eyebrows and lashes, and rosie'd him up with blush and yes, this is going to work very well indeed. Munz has taken over the robotics implementation for Geogie Boy's canine companion, Smoochy Pooch. I love how our crew deals with setbacks with creativity and grace.
We may be holding another online fundraiser after all to recoup some of the materials lost in the fire so please stay tuned if you want to participate or simply send some love our way via PayPal: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_flow&SESSION=gwYYFs7--3fHx5GIOX4Ayij7Pxd5ZzF1J4So9_SFFl6VxDcy3cO-OTWo5d8&dispatch=5885d80a13c0db1f8e263663d3faee8d422be6d275c375afb284863ba74d6cdc
It's that cold, windy bite in the air that motivated us to follow our lead framer, DJ Musa, to partially construct Georgie Boy's motel room, then roll it into my garage, close the door, and crank up the heat as we decorated it with his "pretty things". The room (and faux coke/ice machine control room) were framed to the exact dimensions of out new trailer that is being retrofitted to become part of the installation led by Mr. Fixit at his little shop of pleasures.

Posted project update #5Georgie Boy Back to Drinking The Cheap Stuff
Post CommentThe great news is, the Georgie Boy art installation has been "placed" at Burning Man. Look for his delapidated dwelling at the center of the 3:00 plaza. All of us on the crew are delighted with this placement that provides just enough separation from other attractions while still supporting that "downtown motel" feel we are going for.

In other news, well...
It's worse than his sorded days "off Broadway"-- Now that he has spent all of his successful Kickstarter money on things like skin and silk pajamas, Georgie Boy is slumming it over on Paypal:
https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=QSQ7VSQVHFM22
If you missed his debut gala here on Kickstarter, please click the link above to contribute an amount no matter how small (or large-- oh my!) to this outrageous Burning Man 2011 art installation. Your generosity will go toward buying Georgie Boy's furnishings-- "pretty things" that he supposedly had moved to his seedy motel room from his former New York penthouse.
Thank you from all of us on the Georgie Boy crew, and please follow along with our project updates on the progress blog at www.MutantVehicle.com/Georgie_Boy_Progress.htm

Posted project update #4Thanks To You, An Old Show Queen's Name Is Back In Lights!
Post Comment"Ew my! What a Delight! I am so honored.. HA HA!" As you can see, Georgie Boy just can't stop gushing about his funding success on Kickstarter. Thanks to YOU and 33 other backers, we went well over our goal which means he'll be getting his skin, fabrics, and even some "pretty things" for his otherwise seedy motel room on the playa. You supported our rediculous art, so now it's time to thank you properly...
For those of you who selected from the offered rewards, I'll be sending you a message to inquire about your shipping address and things like autograph dedications, t-shirt sizes/colors etc.-- whatever applies to the pledge level/package you selected. Please stay tuned for more.
To further help fund the project, we also had a successful local fund raising event here in Reno, Nevada which was our 5th annual Yuri's Night celebration of space. Here's a picture by Redrum of the turn-out and space-age costumes and a shot of Georgie Boy's debut at the event by Munz. Although Georgie's movement was limited to face, shoulders and ankle, his dangling of a satin slipper to the music was one of the hits of the evening, as well as his astro-sombrero.
Please follow along with the process of the build on our progress website at www.mutantvehicle.com/georgie_boy_progress.htm
With gratitude,
-Mister Jellyfish.

Posted project update #3Georgie Boy Surpasses Kickstarter Goal!
Post CommentWoot diddy Woot Woot! Thank you from the bottom of Georgie Boy's brandy snifter! We hit our Kickstarter funding goal nine days early and you know what that means... Georgie Boy gets your generous pledge and you get your selected reward! YOU are the reason this art is going to happen in gorgeous, giggly ways at Burning Man 2011 and the crew and I are simply elated!
Now that Georgie Boy can't complain about "simply nothing to wear", he's started bemoaning the fact that we have not moved his trunk full of "pretty things" here from his New York penthouse-- maybe that's because they don't exist yet. There's lots of thrift store and garage sale shopping to do yet and our interior designers, Posha and Lightnin' are just raring to go, so....
Please use this last handful of days to announce our mutual success as everybody likes to be a part of a winning project. The additional donations and reward upgrades will truly be like the icing on a cake you and I have already baked-- together.
With deepest gratitude,
-Mister Jellyfish
P.S. To celebrate, here's a quick video showing the 24 channel relay array design by Aleks Z. that will control much of the lighting. It worked great firing the flames of last year's Ein Hammer piece so we're re-purposing it for this project. Also, please click and enjoy the audio file below which is an example of the kind of dialog that will be going on between Georige Boy and his pet Pomeranian dog, Smoochie Pooch (warning: blatant profanity).
