Posted project update #16First Professional Review!
Post CommentYou set about writing one thing for one audience, and you end up hitting another demographic that you didn’t know would even be interested in what you had to say. Male readers are starting to read my book!
I’m so grateful to have readers who appreciate it – male or female.
Jon-david, local Chicago celeb, hairdresser and fellow author of a series called The Mafia Hairdresser, says it best in his recent AWESOME review of my book at The Local Tourist blog:
"I hate Chick-Lit. I’m a dude. I may be gay and a hairdresser, but I’m a guy so I think like a guy: I do not want to over analyze broken relationships nor talk about my feelings let alone read about them."
However, he went on to say:
"Meagan Adele Lopez has woven what seems to be two storylines, a philosophy to ask questions of oneself and others for personal growth, and page turning prose into a delightfully relatable story that bothwomen and men of all ages can enjoy. Her writing style seems as straightforward and transparent as the main character seems to be but when you get near the end of the book you irrefutably understand that you never saw what was coming because you thought you knew where you were going."
I’m so touched that my first professional review is a GLIMMERING one! I couldn’t have asked for more praise in this review.
A little bit more of the review to whet your appetite, (and if you want to read the full review, please go to this link “Book Review: Three Questions”):
"And my hats off to Meagan Adele Lopez for coercing me to feel like I caught a glimmer of what it was like to actually reason like a woman; as well as be able to show how a man thinks. I related to the men characters and that is why I know men will love Three Question too but damn it if this book won’t get you thinking or relating about how you (dis?)function in your own relationships and career goals."
Thank you so much, Jon-david! I’m so appreciative that you not only took the time to read my novel, but write about it.

To all those who donated enough for the revised paperback edition, the signed copies are on their way! Again, the reformatting took WAY longer than I expected, but thank you for your patience, and please let me know if you don't receive them within the next week.
They are currently being sold on Amazon.com (as well as a few other distributors within Amazon).
There are now 14 reviews! If you've read the book, please help this book by:

Chicago Launch Party
We had at least 50-75 people filter in and out of the launch party on Wednesday night, and I was able to introduce the book to new readers. I definitely see the benefit of getting in front of live people, and discussing it one-on-one.
Plus, my new dress was pretty adorable.
Can't wait to do so in Los Angeles and New York! See you all soon!

Posted project update #14Signings/Readings & More!
Post CommentFirst of all, the interior formatting has taken a little more time than I expected initially - which is why the paperback hasn't been released yet. It should be ready by Monday, and I will be sure to post a link as soon as it is! For those of you waiting on the new version, this is why. Createspace wasn't as forward with me about the time involved, and it takes over four weeks to be completed.
Ebooks are available here.
Chicago Book Party
Event planners Cece and Melinda have graciously asked to feature me and my novel (along with jon-david aka The Mafia Hairdresser - another local Chicago author) at their Champagne Chic Event at the Sofitel on Wednesday, March 14th. If you are in Chicago, I would love to have you! The event is free, and there will be Champagne and bites for $10. Click here to RSVP.

New York Book Reading
I have booked an event to take place in New York on Wednesday, July 11th at the Players in Gramercy Park! It will be taking place in their gorgeous library as shown below. I will be reading a few chapters from my novel, and signing any books that people would like to purchase. Should be a classy, and fun affair! Hope anyone who is in town can make it!

Los Angeles Book Signing
I will be in Los Angeles in late April/early May, and am still securing a location. If you know of a great venue or book store that would be open to hosting me, please let me know - meagan@ladywholunches.net.
Giveaway
Finally, the lovely people at the popular expat blog, The Displaced Nation, are hosting me today for a giveaway, and an interview on my novel. I'm also giving away 15 ebooks to the first 15 people that tweet: "I want a free copy of @theladylunches’ new romance from afar novel, #ThreeQuestions via @displacednation " - so feel free to join! The best comment gets a free paperback as well.
