Post CommentThe Hearts went out on the Mag Mile yesterday and I got some great pics! I will have more soon too but they are on my camera and I have to upload them once I get back to NY. It is so exciting to see them all out!
I was also featured in an article in Monday's Chicago Tribune! Page three is attached!
THANK YOU to Norman and Lynn for their generous donations today!!!
Due to the great Chicago blizzard the opening reception that was scheduled for tonight will be Thursday instead. Hopefully I can get some great photos there too and bring them your way!
Thanks again to everyone who has helped make this trip and project a reality! This past weekend I had Mom, Aunt Terri, and Cousin Em's here and that was such good times! Natalie and Deb have continued to take good care of me and Julie and Claire have been the hostesses with the mostess! LOVE YOU ALL!!

Posted project update #7Day 7 & 8
Post CommentWell, Things are looking good in the studio! I get a little extra time in the morning to make all my final steps to completing both hearts and getting them totally ready for outdoor viewing. I have not included anymore pictures because I want you to see them when they are totally done. More and more press at the studio and lots of buzz. I am looking forward to relaxing a bit with family this weekend after a week of hard work and seeing the hearts out and about.
THANK YOU Dougie for your pledge today!
Final pics coming soon so stay posted.

Posted project update #6Day SIX
I really hope you enjoy these updates as I type them everyday! I want to keep all of you informed and to see the process. It is so exciting on this end and I hope you like the sharing.
I can't believe I am doing TWO hearts and they both have to be done Fri at 9pm! Scramble scramble scramble...But really I am feeling great about the progress and I know I will get it done in time!
Today I finally got the last layer started on the City Pulse-Day. I am still not happy with the Night side and am waiting to show you that when it's done. Full-moonlit clouds are posing a challenge. argh. I also got all my craft paper-dolls cut out and stamped, all 70 of them! Right now they are taped to the wall to keep them in order, but tomorrow they are going on the heart. I also taped off the heart so I can get them on straight. Then it is all about words for the other side for the poem.
THANK YOU Jeff for your contribution today! Much appreciated!
And Just a reminder: Please tell your friends! I am really enjoying sharing this project with everyone and am SO glad I've made this trip and put it up for everyone to follow! The more the merrier! Look at us make TWO pieces of art for a public exhibit! Neat huh? ; ) I am also looking forward to making those Gooey Butter cakes to send to all those yummy backers!
That's enough for now. Off to bed so I can get to the studio early tomorrow and get to work!

Posted project update #5Day 5 - NEWS!
Post CommentMy Heart, "City Pulse", was chosen by The Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute, the beneficiary of the campaign! After it's month long view on Michigan Ave it will be displayed within the institute at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Today I was also interviewed by a press representative from the hospital and they shot a time lapse of my heart. Those videos should be available soon!
Again, such wonderful people here working and helping and making great stuff. What an honor to be among all these great people! All of us rushing to make ours stand out on that mag mile and to raise awareness for Heart Health. Feels Amazing!
So Thank You again go everyone helping make this possible. Today was made possible by Amy and a delish Jimmy Johns hero. Been a while since I had one of those! Mmm
Today was more productive in procuring any other needed materials, but I did manage to get another coat of sky on both sides of "Save Love, Keep Love" and on "City Pulse". I decided to do stenciled Letters and forgo the black underlay, hence painting both sides sky on the new heart. For the Speed reel I did some details on the night sky and moon and removed the tape. I'll still do some touch-ups tomorrow. And get it done I will! Only three more days to finish!!!

Yay Matt! I'm so happy for you! Congratulations!
