commented on a projectSeth, I'm pretty sure yours is in the big batch of maps going out tomorrow morning. As for the USPS: They've never given me a hard time about shipping out lots of packages at once; this multi-stage shipment of rewards happened because of A) limited availability of the shipping materials (that actually was partly the postal system's fault) and B) a shortage of time and other resources on my end. I won't rule out the possibility of other shipping options in the future, but the local post office employees have been very accommodating.

Hi, folks!
Nearly half of you have had your rewards shipped out as of this morning, and the rest should be following very soon. Which is good, because the employees at the local post office are probably getting sick of my regular visits. :)
The new padded envelopes seem to be working out very well, but if you experience any problems with your reward package, please let me know right away.

Here's just a quick note to let you folks know that another batch of rewards shipped out yesterday.
There are still a lot more to go, but I'm working my way steadily through the backer list and getting orders shipped as materials become available. I've got yet more padded envelopes on the way, so there should be another batch going out by week's end.
By the way: If someone who has received their reward package yet could post here to let me know that the maps and dice arrived safely, I'll rest a little easier. :)

Posted project update #28The first transport is away!
Hi, folks!
I'm pleased to say that the first batch of rewards left the building this week, and are now speeding on their way through the US postal system.
Before anyone starts checking their mailbox in earnest, though, I should point out that the first batch was relatively small; for the larger reward packages, I'm trying to use a padded flat rate envelope that's gentler on your products than what I've used before, but the postal service seems unwilling to send out more than one bundle of 15 of them at a time. As such, I've had to re-order and re-re-order, etc, to get enough.
For the smaller packages, I discovered that the heavy cardstock mailers I like to use don't accommodate the dice--at least, not in a way that will guarantee that your posters arrive undamaged without extra padding. So in some cases I'll be sending the dice separately, and others need bubble wrap for added protection.
In any case, I'll be sending out another batch Monday, if not tomorrow.
Thank you, sincerely and tremendously, for supporting this project and making this all possible. The logistics may be more complicated than what I'm used to, but it's totally worth the effort to see these products get underway! :)

commented on a projectNot yet, Aric! I've been working all week to get the packages ready to go out, but they're not quite there yet. This kickstarter has proven more complicated to get ready than my previous ones, mainly because I have four different products (with dice) to ship out in unison instead of one or two.

Mine arrived in fantastic shape - 2 posters, a tiles-set, and dice. The mailer had a small gouge/tear limited to the outer layer. More beautiful West-art!
