    Happy New Year Update

    Hi everyone!

Happy New Year to you all. I wanted to give a quick update on this thing to keep everyone in the loop to the happenings! I wish I was better at keeping up to date on here! Anyway, things have been really great on the LAPSE front for the last month.

We completed the cut and sound mix in time for the first batch of festivals! It was a long and arduous process, but ultimately I wouldn't have it any other way. I had such an incredible time working with my post production crew. Matt, Steve, Blake, and Nate all deserve a round of applause for the contributions and dedication to the project.

So, yes, we have submitted the film to several festivals at this point. Which ones you ask? I think we will keep that a secret until we hear back from them! Excitement! I am really excited by the idea of LAPSE screening at some of these festivals, so everyone stay tuned to find out where we will be playing.

In other news, I know that the prize support has been seemingly a bit slow. I apologize for that. The reason for this mainly comes down to the fact that I have been wanting to send the DVD copies out with all of the prizes and we are just now coming to a place where making the DVDs is actually possible. Please be patient and bear with us a bit longer. Once the cases are printed up and the DVDs are made everyone will be getting their prize packs and I promise to thrown in something special for having been slow on our end!

Finally, I will be announcing a CAST, CREW, and BACKER screening soon. I am trying to lock down a location to do it and we will be off to the races!

Thank you again everyone! 2011 promises to be a very fun and exciting year on the LAPSE movie front.

    Sincerely,
    Christopher Wiezorek

    Progress Report!

    Hello everyone!

Sorry for the quiet time again. Things have been progressing quite nicely on the Lapse front. Matt and I have come to a near 97% picture lock. The edit has been a long and involved process. We have gone through several different versions of the cut and the end is near! I am very pleased with where the movie is right now and I cannot wait to start showing everyone!

Currently, the bulk of the work being done on the film is in the audio department. We have the talented Steve (or as I call him Stevie) Saada doing lots of audio mixing / sweetening. Nate (Albino Gorilla) Clubine is chipping away at the score. I am also very happy to announce that Blake Harrison from the Grind / Thrash / Metal behemoth PIG DESTROYER is going to be doing some sound design / sound-scaping for some of the more, shall we say . . . experimental . . . scenes. It's going to be awesome! I have also been busy making calls and pushing papers to get licensing rights to a particularly popular pop song from the 80's to have included in the film. Everyone cross your fingers on that one, it is awesome and we definitely want to see it (or I guess hear it) happen.

We are also going to be coming up on our first festival submission very soon!!! I don't want to spoil or jinx anything so I won't mention which festival we are submitting to, but I'm very excited about it to say the least.

I remember Michelle (our Production Designer) saying that buttons were going to be making their way out. There was an error at the button press (or wherever they put buttons together) and they shipped us much larger buttons than anticipated. They also had some printing errors on them as well. Long story short on that one is that the buttons are being repressed and shipped back to us soon! Other prize pieces will be coming together and getting finalized as we approach the finish line on the edit and sound mix. I'm excited to show them to everyone!

Once again, I want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for the support and generosity that you have all shown towards this project. Movie making is awesome, even though it can sometimes be a long and tedious process! Thanks for being a part of it!

Quick notice: One of our backers, Nik Korpon, has his new novel being published very soon! It is called STAY GOD. Nik is an incredibly talented writer who is full of great ideas. He was involved in my last short As Safe As The Bank as the primary writer. I am very much looking forward to reading the book and you should too! We are hoping to make a pretty cool announcement soon about the release party and a possible screening of some material!!! Pre-order STAY GOD here: http://www.otherworldpublications.com/

    Sincerely,
Christopher Scott Wiezorek, Your friendly Director

Here's a little bonus! Two screen shots from the film!!! (MATT, OUR EDITOR AND COLORIST, WOULD WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT THESE IMAGES HAVE NOT BEEN COLOR GRADED):

    LAPSE UPDATE!

    Hello All!

Sorry for the silence on the LAPSE front! It has been a busy month-ish since we wrapped principle photography on LAPSE. Even though it has been quiet, it doesn't mean we haven't been busy "Laps-ing" it up! Matt Riggieri and I have been editing away in the quiet recluse of the Digital Cave in Baltimore, MD. The film is coming along nicely and we are pretty pleased with where we are right now. We should be approaching a picture-lock on the edit pretty soon and then it goes into the hands of our sound guys and composer. I can't say too much about who we have in on some of the sound work, but I think it is pretty exciting! I can tell you that my good friend Nate (Albino Gorilla) has been locked away in his music laboratory cooking up all different kinds of tunes for our usage. We have also enlisted the talents of Steve Saada (an awesome dude I met in NJ on a shoot earlier in the summer) to lend his skills to some of our post audio mixing. There's one more possible surprise on that front too (but like I said, too early to say anything)! Prize work has also been taking shape! Michelle Wiezorek has been doing some really cool things for all of the prizes that will be going out! Oh, and the thank you picture... Well, that's coming too. I wanted to make it a little more special than just mine and E's mugs saying "thanks." It is going to be pretty cool when all is said in done! We are extremely excited about our progress! It wouldn't be happening without you! Thank you so much for your support!

More updates to come! Silence no more! :)

    -Chris Wiezorek, Director

    LAPSE June 7th Update

    What a week!
As all of you already know, we officially met our goal on Kickstarter! A very big thank you goes to everyone who had a part in our our success! This might seem a bit late to update but once we hit our goal, our most immediate concern was making sure that our first day of shooting went off without a hitch. So, our apologies for the lateness and without further delay- the update!
Saturday, June 5th was our fist day of shooting. We had to deal with some weird weather conditions. One minute there were rain clouds circling our head like ravenous vultures and the next, sunshine, heat, and mind-melting humidity. And then back to rain clouds. And so on and so forth.
Though that seems like a relatively minor hiccup, matching the lighting from shot to shot is extremely important in making a film. Luckily for us, it never rained and the clouds opened up long enough for us to get the shots we needed before we moved inside the auto shop into a more controlled environment.
In general, we adapted to the situations and the day went extremely well! We moved at a nice pace and captured some great footage. The cast got to flex their acting muscles and turned in some really fantastic performances. The set was fantastic and full of great little details.
Keep an eye out as I’ll be posting some photos and video from the shoot very soon on our tumblr page!
