Posted project update #6The Painting Is In Detroit!
Post CommentLast week Brad and Ryan brought the painting to Detroit and showed it at Detroit Fanfare (a big comic book convention held downtown) and TEDxDetroit. It is awesome!
The painting is currently in my living room and available for weddings, bar mitzvahs, bachelor parties, and any showing occasion. Seriously, it should get around. If you know of a venue in the city that would like to temporarily display it (or a possible perfect permanent home), it's quite a thing, and completely open for intra-city travel. Coffee shops, galleries, parties, lobbies, you name it.
Here are (L - R) Brad and Ryan with the painting at TEDx:

And here's RoboCop actor Peter Weller checking it out at Detroit Fanfare (he's an art head, and when he heard about it he hopped right into a golf cart and cruised over from his area at the other end of the hall -- very cute and awesome :-))

Stay tuned for updates on the game version which Brad is working on...

Posted project update #1Sad Trombone
Post CommentAlas, this Kickstarter round has been suspended for running afoul of Kickstarter's no "fund my life" policy: http://www.kickstarter.com/help/guidelines.

"No "fund my life" projects. Examples include projects to pay tuition or bills, go on vacation, or buy a new camera."
We didn't think it would be a problem since we clearly stated that the crowdfunded signed pizza box was going to be used as a design element/art work on www.detroitinternetclub.com, but that apparently wasn't enough. The project was still too pizza-centric, and accordingly flagged as a hot, cheesy, circular trojan horse for illicitly funding our lives.
Thank you, backers, for helping us reach our modest goal (for which you will not be charged), but there will be no pie in Motown, mighty pizza has struck out.
Double but! There is no keeping a good Detroit Internet Club down. Game still on, of course, for 3:30 PM on Saturday, July 30th at the Detroit Creative Corridor Center, and now we'll have quite a funny story to kick it off with. :-)
Charlie Rose leans in: "Perry. Why do you hate pizza?" haha

Rock on, all! We love you, Kickstarter...even though you hate our pizza. :-P See you soon...
