Take 2 - Not Giving Up Yet!

Things have been pretty crazy the last few months.  Between the holidays and some medical problems, it's been hard to get on here with some new news.

First off, thanks to all of you who helped out with this project on our first launch!  I have been reworking a few things, and am ready to give it another try.

The new project page is located here:  http://kck.st/xuFMVL

In just the first 24 hours we made 1% of our goal, so it's already off to a great start!  This will be the last post on this page, all new posts will be on the new project page, so check it out :)

I'll also be posting updates on my G+ page which can be found here: https://plus.google.com/u/0/112380861379242468878

    Thank you everyone!

    Final 72 Hours!

Well, it's official!  We're down to the last 72 hours, and the support is overwhelming!  Thank you everyone who has been helping out by sharing the project link, telling their friends, and, of course, making pledges!  With your help, this project has made the 1st page of Kickstarter's Popular Photography Projects page!  Woot :D

If we work together, I think we can get this project to the Kickstarter home page, for all the world to see!  Kickstarter uses a few ways to determine popular projects; pledges are the main one, but right behind that is project comments and page hits.

I'd love to see your comments!  Your comment can be anything - tell me about your favorite scenic roads, share your thoughts or ideas for this project, or even just say HI :)  Not only is it a great way to show your support, but it'll be a great way to get to know many of you better :)

I'd also like to take a moment to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season!  May your days be filled with family, friends, and of course, food :)

5 Days Left :) All That, and a Bag.

As things are getting down to the wire, I've been overwhelmed with the wonderful support I've received from everyone.  I know these last few days are going to be the best yet :) Thank you everyone who has been helping out by sharing the project link and telling their friends.  Only 5 days left, keep it up guys!  You rock :)

I'd like to thank our newest backers as well :)  I hope you enjoy following along as much as I'll enjoy sharing the wonder of the back roads with you.

I'd also like to take a moment to thank the guys at Think Tank Photo (http://www.thinktankphoto.com/) for being so generous as to donate their Urban Disguise 35 V2.0 camera bag to give away as a backer reward :)

It's a great looking bag too!  It's designed to hold up to a 13.5 inch laptop, along with your DSLR!  You can even keep your 70-200 f 2.8 lens attached in the bag!

I had a hard time deciding what was the best way to give the bag away, but ended up deciding to make the bag a first-come, first-served $500 Backer Bonus Reward.  It includes everything from the regular reward, with the bonus of the very cool camera bag :)

With the cold weather I've been trying to stay inside and keep warm; but that hasn't stopped me from creating some new works.  I've been having a lot of fun creating smoke art over the last few days, and I have a few new ones to share, enjoy :)

Thank you all again!  Have a great week :)

    Just (Under) 2 Weeks Left!

Admittedly, this post comes a few days late.  I spent the entire weekend curled up in bed, fighting off the sickies.  But, I'm back and bouncing with energy now, and ready to get back to work :)

Whew!  Can you believe we're down to the home stretch already?  I've already gained so much from this project, including getting to meet and share ideas with some wonderful, helpful, encouraging, and talented people!  I can't wait to see what the future holds, and to share it all with you guys :)

I know I've said this over and over, but I just don't think it can be said enough.  Thank you all for your support!  Let's make these last days the best yet :)

I Can Always Hear A Freight Train...

Hey everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend, I know I did!

I'd like to thank our newest backers and supporters, you guys sure know how to make a girl feel special, lol :)  But seriously, your pledges mean the world to me, and every time you share the project link, or tell a friend, you're helping me make this project a reality.  We have 3 weeks left in funding, and I know together we can make this happen!

I also went out with my camera for a bit over the weekend.  I've had my eye on the location for quite some time, but I finally went down to the train tracks near my house.  I've always liked the way the tracks curve away and out of sight, leading who knows where...

I didn't expect the tumble weed to be on the tracks, he was a bonus :)

Great levels Liz, I love the symmetry of the tracks against the hills and the tumbleweed anchors it nicely.

    Thanksgiving =D

Thanksgiving is a great holiday :)  Just the idea of a day for friends and family to get together and remember all the things we are thankful for...

You don't have to have a turkey dinner to appreciate life, but it sure helps! =D

    Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

30 Days to Go, and I Feel GREAT!

Whew!  Can you feel it?  The excitement is snowballing, the word is spreading, and the sun is shining (ok, it's gloomy and cloudy out, but 2 outta 3 aint bad...)

First off, let me take a moment to thank my newest backers.  You guys rock, and I look forward to sharing all of the excitement, beauty and wonder of the road with you all.

The next 30 days are going to be SUPER!  All the little things you guys have been doing to help have been making big differences, and mean so much to me.  And...

This is where are the real fun happens!

The clock is ticking... the intrigue building... will Liz succeed in her all or nothing quest to document these lost highways?!?!  Can she preserve these scenic views and crumbling memories before the evil Bulldozer Man destroys them for all time?!?!  Will Liz drink 6 cups of coffee before writing her next update???

The story continues in the next issue of Project Update...

(I guess if this doesn't work out, I could always get a job writing for Adam West...)

Have a great weekend everyone :)
