Post Commentso it is time to take my leave of sweden already. the final days included a whirlwind tour of the island of Gotland, off the South East coast of Sweden. A lot of *other* things have happened as well in the interim since the last update. Enjoy the show! There is a LOT more to come.

Post CommentMy Swedish crew broke me in gently Friday with a walk around Gamla Stan in the grey weather. Saturday, the weather took a turn for the more spectacular, and we started the day with a cruise around the many islands which make up Stockholm and chased it with a drive out to the woods near Uppsala to investigate a remote iron forge that has been abandoned for centuries. Afterward we took a walk around Uppsala. I have not yet properly captured the just-beginning-to-leaf birch trees but it is on the itinerary, due to the gasp-worthy nature of their presence.
Enjoy!

dear jesus - I'm one of the fortunate few who get to -enjoy- doing my -work-. Make no mistake, this is not a vacation, and while I will be with friends, they are also collaborators in making a body of work. Unlike a lot of desk jockeys, I will have something beautiful to show for myself when I am done making my work. And there are people who put a value on that, to the tune of $2,020.
