Posted project update #13Quincy Jones Interview
Post CommentG'day Kickstarters.
Just wanted to give you an update on our progress with our film “Keep On Keepin’ On”
We are glad to announce that thanks to your pledges on Kickstarter, we have been able to successfully finish the shooting phase of the documentary. We are now entering the beginning stage of postproduction. So we can’t thank you enough!
Some other exciting news is that our last day of shooting was at Quincy Jones’s house. We recorded a beautiful heartfelt interview with Quincy, which will be a major feature in the film. When Quincy entered the room he was holding Clark’s Autobiography and he said to me “Clark’s book is so beautiful. I cried man. We’ve been best friends for 65 years!”
Other news, I have just spent the past five days at the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. It has been a very amazing experience and was a great way to generate some buzz about our film. I am in the process of trying to find a very talented editor that can commit to the project. Our intention is to submit the film in time for the next Sundance Film Festival.
Some other great news is that Clark’s health has been improving. To keep updated with Clark please check out his blog:

If you feel like sending him some love you can send him a message via his guest book:
http://clarkterry.com/#/guestbook/
Clark’s wife Gwen reads him the messages daily.
His book has received some great reviews. You can go to http://clarkterry.com and click on “The Book” to read about them. If you’ve read his autobiography, please write a comment about it in his Guest Book as shown above. He really enjoys hearing your messages.
Thanks again for your continued support and we will be sure to keep you updated
Cheers,
Al & Ad.

Posted project update #12RIP Bob Brookmeyer
G'day.Post CommentWe regret to inform you that the great valve trombonist, writer and arranger, Bob Brookmeyer, unfortunately passed away last week. He was a dear friend of Clark Terry's and also a Kickstarter backer for our project, "Keep On Keepin' On." He will be sorely missed but his music will live on forever.
Here are a couple of links for tributes to Mr. Brookmeyer

Posted project update #7Get well soon CT!
Post CommentG'day mate.
Just thought I would give you an update on the current situation. Unfortunately, Clark is in hospital in Arkansas. His wife Gwen called us 4 days ago to tell us that times are tough and that Clark wanted to see some of his students, so we flew down right away.
When we arrived Clark was facing the news that they might have to amputate his right leg. He was not in good shape and was obviously worried about the prospect of loosing his leg.
We also flew Justin Kauflin down with us so he could be with CT. The amazing thing was that as soon as Clark found out that Justin was there, he perked right up, and before long, Clark began teaching from his hospital bed! It was an amazing scene, something that I will never forget. Gwen later told me that that was the most lively she has seen Clark since he was admitted and it really boosted his spirits.
Mate, it's been a tough few days for Clark. But he has made some great progress and it's looking like he won't have to lose his leg. Like all of you, I love the bloke and its been heart breaking to see him in the hospital, but also incredibly inspiring to see how important his students are in his life.
We're very happy that we are exceeding our goal on Kickstarter as it will enable us to continue this sort of last minute travel. Clark is also excited about the documentary and is looking forward to being back in good health to enjoy it's release in 2012.
If you would like to send a get well message to Clark, please send it to me and I will forward it on to the family.
Thanks again for your support. We have 2 days left on Kickstarter so please continue to spread the word And Keep On Keepin' On! Cheers, Al.
