August Update- Karma Wall, Shows, New Songs!

    Hey there,

It's been a busy summer thanks to you and your support! Hopefully by now you've all received your rewards packages and are enjoying the new record! There are a few things still in the works including the Karma Wall and cover songs for Youtube. These are all coming very soon, as soon as I get back from tour and recording this month.

Here's a bit about what's going on right now:

Our Seattle record release show is this Thursday, August 19 at the Crocodile. This will be a full band show featuring Ed O'Brien of Sons of Sweden, Johanna Cranitch, Alex Westcoat and Blake Wescott of Pedro the Lion/David Bazan!  We've got some surprises in store, so we hope you can make it out.  Advance tickets are at Sonic Boom sonicboomrecords.com or online via the Stranger.

Read a nice show preview courtesy of the Seattle Weekly here.

Mark Isakson from Charity Stripe and Sons of Sweden joins us earlier that night to play a special all ages show at Sonic Boom in Ballard on August 19, right before the Crocodile release party.  7pm, all ages, and free!!

If you want to hear us on the Northwest radio waves, you can request White Horses on KEXP by emailing dj@kexp.org or calling 206-903-KEXP.

Ohio folks thanks so much for coming out to Lilith Fair!  We had a blast and we hope you did too!  If you missed it, you can catch some footage here.

We're back in Ohio September 3 to play Concert on the Square on the Rockin on the River stage in Cuyahoga Falls. 5pm, free, all ages!

Akron's 91.3 The Summit has been playing the new album.  Let em know you like their style.  Request songs at 913thesummit.com or call 330-761-3099.

And for all of you in parts other than Seattle or Ohio right now, don't be a stranger.  Stay close on facebook, myspace, twitter, tumblr and at katetucker.net.

I'll be posting photos from Lilith Fair and the film shoot we just finished and the studio session we're about to do at katetuckermusic.tumblr.com!

Thanks again for coming out to the shows and listening to the new songs!

    Love, love, love,

    KaTe

Kickstarter Press. New York Times and Free Exclusive Download!

If you're reading this, it's likely that you've either already given to a Kickstarter campaign or you're considering it now. Here are some quick easy reads on how Kickstarter.com is changing the way artists and fans interact. One thing I've been so thankful for in doing this, beyond the financial support, is the interactions I've had with you already. It means so very much to know that perfect strangers actually care about me releasing this record. Now, you're no longer strangers. You're part of this project and I will ever be grateful for having you in my life.

    xxo,

    Kate

SUCCESS = NEW RECORDS + PRIZE DISCOUNTS

Look what all y'all did!! We met our goal with time to spare! Thank you thank you thank you for believing in this project! I can't wait to send you all shiny new records!

$5,000 is a great start for releasing this record. CD's are now in production, promotion is starting up. We even have an official release date, June 29, 2010!

It'd be great to raise even more money to TOUR out to your hometown. Records, promotion, touring, it costs lots of money. We've hit $1,000 a week thus far and I'd love to keep it going through June 4. That would mean I'd be able to take the band out for a full on NATIONAL TOUR, which would mean awesome shows all for you, complete with super fab swag-- t-shirts, vinyl records, giant posters, you name it.

To celebrate reaching our goal, I've discounted a couple of the fancier prizes.

DEDICATED SONG. Now's your chance to get yourself that song you've always wanted, covered by yours truly, posted on Youtube with a personal dedication straight to you. Includes exclusive mp3 recording plus signed copies of all my records. Was $500, now $350.

Perhaps you were eying up the VIP TIX for LIFE along with the PRIVATE HOUSE CONCERT where I cook you a fabulous dinner. Includes backstage photo shoot and all my records signed for you. Was $5,000, now $3,000.

Thank you again for your amazing support!!

YOU and ME. ME and YOU. We the People. Make it Happen!
