Posted project update #3Exploring behavioral alternatives
Post CommentDear friends,
We have entered a period in history where our physical relationship to our habitat must be re-examined. Ecological sustainability is something we must explore behaviorally, since the negative impact our species has made on the planet has extended from our physical behavior.
By creatively exploring our physicality in relationship to our natural environment (how we move through space, how we relate to other species, how we engage with our natural resources) we can begin to re-frame the sustainability conversation in terms of personal behavior and cultural practices.
The good news is that moving consciously and creatively in nature is fun!
Together we can creatively identify and articulate cultural practices that reflect the ecological values we hold.
I look forward to developing this work with you.
Warmly,
Karl

Posted project update #2Birds of the Gulf
Post CommentDear Kickstarter friends,
After weeks of reading about failed attempts to stop the flow of oil into the Gulf of Mexico, I've resolved to document the physical stories of the plants and animals directly affected by this catastrophe, starting with the birds.
More to come...
Your Dancing Ecologist,
Karl Cronin

Karl, it seems a bit daunting, but I don't think you should give up just yet. Kickstarter can be a great thing, but you have to constantly push it. On facebook, on twitter, by email. If you have the day free, I can imagine that you'll make it. In my last project, I raised the last $1,200 in just a day or so. But I was on facebook and twitter every 30 minutes. If that's no doable, then I wish you luck in your next effort.

Posted project update #6Arts-based Environmental Learning
Post CommentDear Friends,
I wanted to be super clear about what the $5,000 we are raising will cover:
- Local transportation and film costs for roughly 10 field expeditions
- Studio space in San Francisco to make the presentation
- Flight to NYC (Apr) and Santa Fe (Aug)
- Create a searchable online archive for the project
- Light refreshments at our public offerings
- Small stipend for our guest speakers (local wildlife experts)With your support, I will offer presentations in venues in San Francisco, Santa Fe, and New York City AND maintain a searchable online archive with films, photos, notes from the project, as well as links to partnering organizations.
30 days are left to reach our goal.
Please help us spread the word!
Karl
