Posted project update #13You did it! You made it real!
We're Minnesotan, so: OMG, you guys!!
The last 6 hours of this campaign were MENTAL. We've been up all night (every night), reading, responding, tweeting, posting, calling, recording, stressing... and got up this morning to see an AVALANCHE of support constantly flowing through the interwebs (facebook, twitter, etc) and we got all misty-eyed about every five minutes. For real. (you have no idea). Even though Jeremy wore his Superman underwear today, what really mattered was YOU. Your belief and crazy support made this campaign a success. Your generosity and your willingness to voice your belief in the project made it happen in a big way these last couple of days and hours.
To be truthful, it was stressful. We ran a deficit through this whole campaign and it was darn hard to stay positive, but we truly believe in it and we kept hearing your encouraging words and seeing your beautiful contributions. We're proud to have each of you on the team with us.
Now the real heavy work of making the movie begins... we'll do our very best to post updates and blog entries and we'll tweet and facebook like total dorks, so follow along and we cannot wait to show you the finished movie! All the info can be found on www.deathtoprom.com
Be Fabulous (you already are, you know)!
Hugs and love,
-jeremy and matt

Posted project update #12Is DTP A True Story?
Post CommentMany people have been asking if Death To Prom is based on a true story. Matt gives you the answer and some insight in this "senior portrait" interview. If only I didn't have to bleep out some content...
And this campaign ends on Thursday afternoon! You have been making this an amazing and exciting journey these past 30 days... in a few hours we'll find out just how exciting. We keep debating a live stream during the last hours - what do you think?
Stay tuned! Keep posting and spreading the word for a few more hours!
We thank you all... Hugs!

Posted project update #11Trixie's Wish
Ok, Jeremy's daughter sends out her wish of the day. "I wish we had 8 arms..."
(JW: I'm not sure whether to be proud or horrified that she's concerned about kickstarter!)

Posted project update #105x5x5 Challenge!
Post CommentCinco de Mayo (5th of May) just so happens to be the 5th remaining day of our Kickstarter campaign.
We thought we'd ask you to try a challenge: ask 5 friends to donate 5 bucks to the Death To Prom kickstarter campaign on Cinco de Mayo!
Just send this this link with your personal message (maybe about why YOU are supporting the project):
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/jwilker/death-to-prom
Email it, tweet it, facebook it. Let us know how it goes!
(we probably should've made margaritas...)

Posted project update #9Meet Catherine (aka Holly). A week to go!
Post CommentEverybody meet Catherine. She plays Frankie and Rene's best friend Holly. She's too cool for school and sarcastic and funny... and she loves messed up horror films?! Eeek.
If you tuned in to KFAI on Wednesday evening you might've heard a great interview with Matt and Jeremy on Art Matters (click to listen). Marya Morstad interviewed us and we dished on the inspiration and approach we're taking for Death To Prom.
We're about to cross the 3-week mark and we're over 55%, so this last week is going to be mental, we just know it. But we'll take the mental to get this movie made! Ask your friends today to join in with us at the $25 level. And keep on spreading the good word!
