Posted project update #5Not Backing Down! (a new campaign)
Post CommentThe kickstarter campaign for The House failed and there's a big reason why...
During production a meeting the number $25,000 had been tossed around as the goal for our crowdfunding campaign on kickstarter. My gut said that the number was too high and that we should have gone for $5,000. Regretfully, I didn't go with my gut! Had we gone with the $5,000 goal I believe we would have reached our goal easily because within 48 hours of starting this campaign we had already reached $2,500 in pledges. $25,000, the number pitched in the production meeting, is a huge number to go for and I believe that we had deterred people who would have supported that campaign because of the size of that number. I have redeveloped the production budget and found ways of cutting costs without hurting quality. We know that people believe in this project that is why we have set up a new crowdfunding campaign at http://www.indiegogo.com/The-House-film-1 If everyone who backed this campaign backed this new one we would be more than half way to the goal I set. By hitting halfway it inspires others to get involved, especially if it happens very quickly. Many times when a campaign reaches it's goal quickly it inspires people so much that they exceed their goal sometimes by twice the amount aimed for. I'm asking everyone who believed in this project to go over to the other campaign and take a look at it. As I've said before, "I'm not backing down!" and I mean it.

Posted project update #412 days left to go!
Post CommentCurrently we have 12 days to go to reach our goal. We now have 18 backers and have almost hit $3,000. Plus there are some other developments that have been occurring on the side to help assure production in September.
We shot the micro-pilot for The House Sat May 21st. The chemistry was so perfect that onlookers thought the two actors were really in love. The cinematography was beautiful. We are currently editing it together and then the composer will be creating the score to it. No matter what we're not backing down on production for September!
Thank you everyone who has believed in the dream

Posted project update #3And Upgrade in what our campaign is doing.
We have decided that if we reach our kickstarter goal, 5% of the funds we'll receive will be donated to a Michigan charity, specifically one in the area of Benton Harbor. And another 5% of the funds would be donated to a charity within the state of Maine. Our belief is that while raising the funds to make our film is great, it is better to also be able to use some of it to help inspire others.
Along with this update we also wanted to show you one of the video pieces that a cast member made about why he's involved in THE HOUSE.

Post CommentWanted to give everyone a simple update that in less than 2 days we have just crossed the 7% funded marker. I wanted to thank everyone who has gotten involved in this campaign so far. It will be an interesting ride but I believe at the end it will be inspiring what people can do when the come together to do the impossible!

Posted project update #1Demand It! Campaign
Post CommentWe have now started our "Demand It!" campaign for THE HOUSE. We believe that this is a much more reasonable and responsible way of generating real interest in this film. We're already gaining more support with it than with our Crowdfunding campaign. If you did not receive our last update, we have decided that the crowdfunding campaign for The House was flawed in concept. The reason is that we feel that the best way to show "Monetary Value" is not to ask for pledges of amounts of money but instead to ask people to demand it. Instead of trying to raise 50,000 (2,000) people buying a DVD, we're going to push to get 50,000 people to Demand It. It will take a much longer time to build up to this success, but it gives investors a much more substantial proof of the value. Plus when you invite others to get involved it's not about money but their desire to see the film made and shown.

That is so cool, John-very excited about The House!
Thank you. Felt that it's the least we could do if we reach our goal. Still have a tall mountain to climb to reach the goal. But not backing down.
