Back in the studio (37 ft.) this weekend!

    Hi all,

Well, after a short delay I will be back in the studio this weekend. I've got 12 hour sessions booked for Saturday and Sunday and can't wait to get rolling! I'll be working with the talented engineer Drew Townson. Check out this cool story when he worked with Roger Waters! I've known Drew for a long time but never worked with him, so I'm excited to finally get that chance. Along with his fine-tuned ears and recording skills, Drew's one hell of a guitar player himself, so I know he'll be pulling in great guitar tones. I'm going to have a bevy of vintage amps and mics I can use at 37' Productions too. Joining me on the session will be Eliot Bayless on drums (plus asst. engineer) and the master of the fretless Fender Precision bass, Dave Kenderian. Thank you again for backing me.

    Here we go!

    peace,
    Jay

    Studio switch

    Hi all,

Due to time constraints with the current studio, I'm now looking for a new place to record the album in. I have two studio tours setup today and will hopefully be working with one of them. In the meantime, here's a free track I recently recorded at home. This is an instrumental called "Moving In." I created this piece for an audio documentary about a small group of train enthusiasts and their lifelong friendship (link below). Enjoy!

    peace,
    Jay

    Happy Holidays!

    Hi all,

Just wanted to give a brief update. Well, the update is that there is kind of "no update" right now. :) Unfortunately, I've been a bit under the weather and that has prevented me from finishing vocals on the first track I mentioned before (Quiet One). However, I should be wrapping it up quickly in the new year and onto the next track.

I hope everyone has a great holiday season!

    Best,
    Jay

    Quiet One Session - 11/9/2011

    Hi all!

I had a great session yesterday with Ron Bosse. I laid down slide guitar harmonies (like George) and added bass. The track is now ready for lead and backup vocals next week. Here's a pic and short video of the bass overdub. This was the third take, so three times IS a charm here!

    Best,
    Jay
