Posted project update #7Production Launch!
Post CommentHey, it’s Jake Frey, designer/inventor of NeoCover, the magnetic light switch cover. Thanks so much for showing interest and support for my product. I have some great news to share with you.
I found an investor and a manufacturer, and just completed my first production run of a new and improved version of NeoCover (www.neo-cover.com). I changed the color to a palette-neutral white and beefed up the magnetics to hold almost a ton (actually, it can grip 27 keys and a hammer).
Never lose your keys again, keep convenience items right at hand and don’t forget your stuff on the way out the door. Check it out and tell your friends!

Post CommentHello Project Backers!
Here we go! Only a couple days left and I need your help.
I need a lot more funding to fulfill the project goal, but it is not impossible if I can get my backers to help me out in spreading the word.
Remember that on Kickstarter, if I do not reach the $10,000 goal, then I will receive none of the funds and no one will receive their switch covers. We have to spread the word and get this everywhere!
What I need you to do:
Email anyone you can. Take a few minutes and send an email out about the project to everyone possible. Please. Either ask them to consider pledging or to at least help continue spreading the word. Hopefully both, but I need your/their help.
I've exhausted myself reaching as many people as I can but I can only do so much. I need your help. Please be sure to include the link to my Kickstarter page in your emails.
There is a very short amount of time to get this project successful but it is possible and I will keep working until the last minute. I fully believe in this product.
I have worked very hard on this and I sincerely hope it will pay off with your help.
Thank you!
New backers be sure to check out the past few project updates to stay up to speed with what's going on. Don't forget about the running list of backers published on my site. All backers who pledge any amount at all can have their names published here: http://www.jakefrey.com/news.html so that you can be recognized for helping me out! Help me make this list grow.
Thank you all so much,
-Jake

Posted project update #4New information!
Post CommentHello everyone and new backers!
Lots going on this week as we get dangerously close to the end of the campaign! With 61 backers to date and 24% of the goal met, we're going to need as much help as possible to reach the goal!
#1. This week I hit the streets! I walked all over downtown Philadelphia posting up/handing out flyers with a scannable QR code on them in hopes of Philadelphians helping out one of their own! This IS the city of Brotherly Love after all!
#2. Twitter account up and running!! Follow @MagneticCover to get the latest buzz about the product and check out the media attention it is getting!
#3. Facebook event! I have created an event to get the project campaign shared on as many walls as possible! You can just click "Join" and you're in! Please also click the "Invite Friends" button in the upper right and invite everyone you can. Here is the event: https://www.facebook.com/events/194131940672352/
#4. Don't forget about the running list of backers published on my site! All backers who pledge any amount at all can have their names published here so that you can be recognized for helping me out! Help make this list grow!
Thank you all so much,
-Jake

Posted project update #3Furthering our audience
Post CommentHello!
I wanted to thank everyone and welcome our new backers to the Magnetic Light Switch Cover Project! Things are going well and we are slowly but surely making progress. Up to 37 backers at a total of 17% funded.
There are only 22 days left so we need to make some serious progress to get this campaign everywhere possible! Remember that if we do not meet the $10,000 goal then none of the funds go to the project and no one receives their light switch covers!
I had the Kickstarter description rewritten (by an actual writer) to better deliver a clear and concise message to our audience!
How can you help?
What we need is an audience. The best ways to do this is through personal emails or through Facebook. Emails are great because they are personal and private.
If each of the 37 current backers sends an email to 10 of their friends, simply asking to check out the project, we can reach an audience of 370 instantly. If we ask those people to email to 10 of their friends, the project will be viewed by an exponential amount of people very quickly.
Our second option is Facebook. I have created an event for the Kickstarter here: https://www.facebook.com/events/194131940672352/
For those of you who use Facebook (who doesn't?!), you can join this event and invite as many friends as possible to check it out! It is a more informal but very large audience, which hopefully works to get help!
Thank you everyone for all of your help so far!
Any questions at all, please don't hesitate to ask.

Posted project update #2Help spread the word!
Post CommentHey everyone!
We are now up to 24 backers to date and funded 11%! It is moving slowly but still moving! Since the Kickstarter has launched, there have been a few things floating up in the press about the campaign. My school, Philadelphia University published an article just the other day to help promote the project!
Industrial Design Student Jake Frey's Magnetic Light Switch Design Catching Attention and Buyers by Nathan Susanj
A great little article that will hopefully help the campaign get some much needed attention and get this product to the market!
I ask all who have pledged and all that view this to help spread the word. Send a quick email to everyone you possibly can, post on Facebook, or tweet! It is only with your help and support that we can make this product a success.
Thank you for everything we've done so far!
