    ETERNAL GRATITUDE!

Even though we are still a week out, and 40% from our goal, I couldn't help but send out a HUGE THANKS to all of you incredible people for your pledges. All of us at Imagine That are super excited about this production and remain certain and optimistic about this Kickstarter Campaign.

Here's a quick update on our progress with the development of Down the Drain:

In the past couple weeks, we have been extremely fortunate to add two new members to the cast: Breanna Stogner (seen in our last production, A Writer's Visions) and Judd Farris (who is also slated for our upcoming production of Bound). They're both colleagues of mine from Texas State and incredibly talented. So when you add them into the mix, with the dynamic duo known as Martin Burke and Meredith McCall, this production is destined to be one we record in the books.

We began rehearsals two days ago, and are meeting nightly to explore the text of ACT I. Next week, we will delve into ACT II. This is a unique project in that a large part of what will grace the stage (come opening night) might not even be written yet. With each night, comes new discoveries; the more we discover, the more our story shifts; as the story shifts, new dialogue begins to surface, bringing about new pages daily. This makes the process both extremely exciting (the possiblities) and extremely nerve-racking (the possibilities).

But that is part of the beauty I have found in theatre...artists coming together, melding their minds, creating a bit of magic, and then sharing it with all of you. And most times that takes being unsure and being scared while forging ahead into the unknown.

Several weeks ago, without having a full draft, I text Meredith McCall to thank her for taking this leap with me into the unknown ... her response, "There's no flying without leaping." No truer words.

So again, I'd like to thank ALL OF YOU for helping make this leap possible, and essentially, taking the leap with us. Here's to clasping hands and hoping for an exciting flight!

    See you in the theatre!

    Your humble playwright,

    John Boulanger
