Funding continues on Goutte d'Or (www.gouttedor.com)

    Hi all,

First of all a BIG THANK YOU! Thanks for the support you have provided. Unfortunately we were not able to reach our USD 5,000 goal within deadline. That means that NO MONEY HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM YOUR ACCOUNTS!

However, Christophe and I continues to work with the film together with all the great people who are still helping us. There are people in France, Germany and New Zealand who are now helping us with various tasks of the film (because of the kickstarter campaign).

However, we are still short of funding, and some of you have expressed a wish to help us regardless of the success of the Kicstarter.com campaign.

*** NEW SUPPORT POSSIBILITY OPEN! ***

Therefore we invite you all to PLACE YOUR SUPPORT DIRECTLY to our PayPal account via our web-site http://www.gouttedor.com/. All support will be given in USD still. And this time around there is no time limitation to our campaign and the funds will be withdrawn from your credit cards immediately.

We will give you the same deal as here: credits on the website and in the end of the film + on imdb.com. Please read more at the front page of www.gouttedor.com.

Again - thanks to everyone to have helped us out so far.

And for those of you who just wants to stay updated, please send your email address to soren@happyflyfish.dk then I'll make sure you'll get the updates you need

All the best, and we wish you a nice and sunny summer!

    Christophe and Soren

Hi Christopher and Anthony, First of all thanks a lot for backing us! It means everything to us with the moral support. We do have a long way to hit the 5,000 mark. We'll see what happens. I can tell you that regardless of the financial success here on Kickstarter, we will make the film! It will just take longer and be a little more painful. But that's the name of the game. Another possibility is to lower the 5,000 mark to 2,000 - I don't know if that's possible on Kickstarter - I'll look into it. It seems that almost all the backers so far really want to help us with the funding regardless of us hitting the 5,000 mark or less. And even 2,000 will mean a lot! Please, let me know if there's anything else you need to know, and to everybody else who backed us, if you disapprove to lower the mark to 2,000 (if it's at all possible) please let me know. Soren

    Christophe and Soren says hi!

Here we are - this is us! Christophe (Director) and Soren (Producer).

Already now this campaign has given us incredible feedback. The other day I had a mail from one of the heads from Aardman who was very impressed with our work! So we foresee a bright future for our film.

However, we still need to complete it, and we need to complete it so that everything looks stunning. It takes a lot of work (like really - tons and tons of work!) and we need all the support we can get from out there.

So please pledge - any amount counts! And again thanks to everybody who already did support us, one way or another - it's totally appreciated, we couldn't do this without you!

Spread the word and be a part of this film

    Christophe and Soren

Hi Christophe, There are various reasons for using blue or green. In general green seems to be the best color to key out and therefore green is the preferred color. However, it's crucial that there's no green colors on your characters and backgrounds - then it will be much more difficult to key. So when we have green elements in the shot, blue is chosen for the background. In this particular case there's a lot of green in the BG tree and further blue is also chosen since the background we will replace with is a blue variation. If you have both blue and green elements, you choose what you believe will be the less difficult color to key. Soren

Thanks Soren. I should have known it as we have the same issue when doing pixel-art/sprite animation (one of my hobbies).

First 5 days, 15% funded and 11,000 views!

    Hi all,

I'm proud to be able to inform that we have hit the 10,000 views mark on Vimeo - we are actually at 11,000 right now! Incredible - we could only do this with all your help! So thanks a million.

And the other great news is that we are already at 15% finance after only 5 days! Fantastic! Again thanks to all the backers so far.

With 28 days to go there's still time, but it will take a lot of hard work and focused effort. At the moment we are producing some video-updates from the production and they will be ready next week.

Until then, thanks again and talk soon!

Goutte d'Or kick off went great!

    Hi there,

The kick off of Goutte d'Or on Kickstarter.com went absolutely fabulous. We have already got 11% of the financing in place - within the first 24 hours! And add to that that more than 8,000 people have seen the trailer on Vimeo it couldn't be better.

We are now working hard on following up on all the attention, and we try to get back to every single one of you who have been kind enough to post comments and question.

Please help us to keep momentum and spread the word!

    Thanks everybody!

    Christophe and Soren
