Posted project update #5Great Show Friday Nite
Post CommentWe had a great show last nite!
Good turn out and the audience was really into it - if I do say so myself!
Got a great response, lots of good feedback.
I'm happy
and off to Cafe du Monde for some of those crazy delicious beignetsPamela
Here's our poster on the corner of Esplanade and Decatur.
(We're first up after they cleared the pole of all the old posters - hard to staple through the ka-jillion old staples) -

Posted project update #4groove is happenin'
Post CommentWe opened last night! Not a great turnout but what audience we had seemed to really enjoy it. And I was pleased...
The Fringe photographer took a ton of photos and as soon as they make their way to me I'll post some.
We're expecting a bigger crowd for our main Friday night show.
Sunday may not be so packed - we'll be competing with the Saints game and from what I'm hearing - art's one thing, but football is king...but we'll see. Maybe word will get out...Meanwhile
The cast is great and doing a great job with the piece and l believe they're having a blast. So it's going good.

Posted project update #2Groove First Reheasals and the Press Preview
Hey y'all,
I'm back from a quick trip to New Orleans with some pictures from our first rehearsals and the Press Preview night where Krista performed the Carly, the Spy monologue before a rocking SRO packed house!A pre- Halloween parade went by the hotel; I caught some beads (which I bet someone will be getting in their pledge package). Here's a photo of one of the floats too.
Which reminds me...
We open on 11.11 and eleven minutes after the eleventh hour on the eleventh day of the eleventh month is when Fasching ,the beginning of Karneval in Germany, starts: elften elften elf Uhr elf..
So considering Carnival ends so famously on Fat Tuesday, Mardi Gras, in New Orleans it seemed right that we should complete our fund raising then -- just in time for Carnival to begin!Krista Schafer and Bob Scully

Posted project update #1Hey there
The project is going full speed ahead. On my way to New Orleans tomorrow for first rehearsals and we're part of the Fringe's "Pu Pu Platter" .... a pre-Fringe Press Preview of selected performing groups in the Fringe and Groove is in the Heart is one of the groups that has a performing slot. We'll be doing a piece from the play, the Carly Spy (love spy that is) monologue. Very excited!
And so as Lewis and Clark were wont to say at the end of of a journal entry ...."We proceeded on."

YAY! Congratulations! I love that I'm part of this "team" and look forward to hearing about the performances. Break legs, etc.

Congratulations!! I'm excited for you! Have an amazing show and enjoy yourself.
And, if it's not too much trouble, pick me up a fried Oyster po-boy, dressed with the works, add blue cheese, mayo and hot sauce. (can you even get that though security?)
Fabulous! Break a leg!
