    Hey, I have a video!

In case you didn't see, I now have a video.
Apparently people are distracted by the bear in the video. Sorry, it's not my bear, but the bear does have an interesting story. Here's the short version-
A guy wanted to make the biggest ever teddy bear. So he did. Then he got married. His wife didn't like it. Like REALLY didn't like it. So she said, "it's me or the bear". Well, the guy gave in and sold the bear for $50 to my girlfriend. It now serves as a couch, cat bed, accessory-dangling thing, and general surprise to people not expecting to see a huge fucking bear when they walk in the door.

Anyway, 17 days and a lot of money to go on this project. PLEASE share my page with your twitter/facebook/myspace network.

    The Gear

The bike I'll be riding is a Novara Safari. Not a top-of-the-line touring bike, but certainly one that is good enough to allow me to ride around the country with a few tweaks.

My other gear is still up in the air. I am seeking sponsorship from various manufacturers of bike accessories and clothing, as well as a few camping/outdoors companies, but have yet to secure anything. Taking a lesson from my last adventure, I know that every company out there is bombarded by sponsorship requests, so I figured I'd have a better chance staying local. If there is anyone out there that could help me obtain a sponsorship, that would be great.

I got a good solo tent from my last adventure, and some other random necessities, but I am in need of good panniers, a hydration pack, cycling shoes, and probably a GPS unit. I went my paper maps for my last adventure and they failed me.

Being that I'm at about 5% of my goal with only three weeks to go, I expect my next update will be a video. I am not sure why a video should make such a big difference, but I'll try anything.

    I'm fit

And ready to get on the road. I know this project, like my others, is a bit of a long shot.

I've talked to bike companies around town, and most are willing to give me a discount on a good touring bike if I can raise the funds.

Remember that 35% of the money I'm asking for goes directly into your rewards.
If you're a fan of Ken Burns' photography of the National Parks, you'll certainly also be a fan of this.

    Audio Completed

The audio for the anthology has been put together in some sort of purposeful manner.

Next step is adding the bells, whistles and other mixing magic to the individual tracks.

    Deadline: two weeks from now.

    3/3

24 hours to go. Still at $114.

I have about half the portraits done for this show and will have the other half done in a week.
A pledge of just $3 from a few dozen of my friends would allow this project to be funded.

Make it happen, if not for the sake of bringing a face to homelessness in my home state, then for the sake of my future projects in Kickstarter.

    -David
