Don't worry, we are still making this film!

    Dear everyone,

First of all, a huge thank you to all of our backers so far. We truly appreciate your belief in us and our film. Unfortunately, time is up and we have not met our Kickstarter goal. But, this is certainly not the end of the road!

Don't worry, we are still making this film. Or, to be more clear — we are definitely absolutely no-doubt-about-it making this film. We'll be sending out a few updates via this site and the film's website— wecomefromthesea.com — soon with some more exciting details on our next steps.

So, please stay tuned, and thanks for the support so far!

Will the film look the same as our Kickstarter video?

Robert, one of our contributors, just asked about our Kickstarter video, and if the final film will have the same 'look'. That's a great question.

Our Kickstarter video is all about giving everyone a better idea for the kind of atmosphere and feel we'll be creating, but the actual film will look a whole lot more amazing.

The video for Kickstarter was shot on an iPhone 4 that we took with us into the desert, which is why it sounds the way it does, whereas the actual film will be shot on a really great camera with really great lenses.

We'll be testing out a set of vintage Russian anamorphic Lomo prime lenses, and we're all looking forward to seeing how they'll contribute even more to the atmosphere of the film.

So basically, the Kickstarter video is a good way to get a feel for what we're going for, but the real thing will be so much more awesome!

Hey Robert. That's an excellent question! Not exactly. The Kickstarter video was shot on an iPhone 4, so it's super shaky and the sound is obviously not so great. However, when we shoot the actual film, we'll be using a really great camera and fantastic lenses, so it will look rather different. This Kickstarter video is more about giving everyone a feel for the story and an idea for the kind of atmosphere that the film will have. So basically, the film will look a whole lot more amazing than this Kickstarter video!
