Post CommentJust want to let you know that the Dangerous Games Kickstarter rocketed off to an excellent start. At the moment, we've lined up 68% of the funding in just one week. By way of comparison, the Matt Forbeck's Brave New World drive took 28 days to get to the same total, and the Shotguns & Sorcery drive required 24. I call that moving in the right direction.
We still have 24 days to go, but don't take too long to join us in the next trilogy too. My poor heart can't take it. Thanks for your support!

Today marks the first week of the Dangerous Games drive done, and we're already up to 68% of our goal! I can't tell you how thrilled that makes me, and yet humbled at the same time. I want to thank each and every one of you for your support, and I want to give a special shout-out to David Chamberlain, who's signed on to help create a character for each of the trilogies so far. You all rock.
We still have 32% to go, of course, and with 25 days left, that seems like a lock. Still, I don't want to take anything for granted, so I'm continuing to push the drive where I can. In the past week, I did an interview with Charisma Bonus about Dangerous Games, and I also plugged it during an interview about my Magic: The Gathering comic with Gathering Magic. For the future, I've lined up an article on Wired's Geek Dad blog (to which I sometimes contribute), I completed an interview with Meet the Gamers, and I recorded an episode of Crucible of Realms, which should be out soon too.
It never seems like enough, of course, so if you can help me spread the word about Dangerous Games, I'd be grateful. Tweet it, Facebook it, Google Plus it, and chat it up with friends. If you have a blog or a podcast and would like to interview me about it — or you know someone who does — I'd be happy to chat about it.

EPub is a particular format for ebooks, the one used by iBooks, Nook, etc. You can read it on your computer or phone with the Nook software or on your computer with the free Calibre software. The app I used to send out autographed ebooks only supplies the ePub and Kindle formats. However, I do generate a PDF that the printer uses to create the hardcopy editions too. So, if you need a PDF, just send me a request when the books you back go out. I'm happy to send it out, although it won't be autographed. Thanks for the support!

Post CommentAt the end of our second full day of the drive, we stand at 51% funding and 120 backers. I want to thank each and every one of you for the faith you've show in this project. I keep having more and more ideas about the books — including some great suggestions coming in from some of you — but I have to shove them aside for the moment so I can work on the Shotguns & Sorcery books and a tie-in novel I'm writing based on the Leverage TV show.
Don't worry, though. I'm taking notes.
I suspect we'll have a slow weekend here, but I have a few random posts and interviews going up in various places next week. I'll post links once they're up. If you or someone you know would like to interview me or host a guest blog post or have some other great idea for helping to get the word out, don't be shy. Just shoot me a message here or at matt@forbeck.com, and we'll get it rolling.
