commented on a project updateFor the December 8th strip, we need an original strip cut from the paper, unfortunately. And I'd like to have an actual paper of the Post-Crescent too. I just know there's somebody who has a dozen boxes of old Post-Crescents in their garage. I just don't know who or where they are.... Thanks for looking into it though!!

commented on a project updateHey Michael-- Thanks so much for offering! Luckily we now have complete comics sections from every Sunday in 1995, including that Santa strip. There are a few things so far that I'm having a heck of a time finding though, if anybody has any leads... Newspapers are increasing hard to get a hold of these days. Microfilm is available, but the physical newspapers are apparently rarely saved unless there's a momentous headline. I've been trying to find an issue of the Appleton Post-Crescent from ANY date during the run of Calvin & Hobbes, but have yet to find one. If anybody has one that they were about to use to line their hamster's cage, please set it aside and let me know! And there is a specific Calvin & Hobbes Sunday strip that I would like to use but it is eluding me. It is from December 8th, 1985. If anybody can find it for me, you'll make me a very happy man. -Joel

One thing you might want to do, however, is just make sure that the e-mail address you have on file with Kickstarter is current. Interesting to hear a collegue of Bill's analyse the strip. Haven't thought about Calvin's parents to be cold, rather a bit strange, but again, that would be logical, to explain Calvin's character a bit ;-)

It is really nice to hear that some of you might consider making an additional pledge, but I want to be clear that a second Kickstarter campaign would be to bring in another group of supporters, and wouldn't be with the expectation that any current backers would pledge again. We still get occasional Paypal donations through our website and inquiries about supporting the film. Shagg, your suggestion about having a firm release date in the case of a second campaign is definitely something to consider. Thanks again! Joel

commented on a projectYep, Patrick, that's the plan. The bonus DVD will have more of the "scenes" that end up getting cut or shortened significantly, and hopefully lots of interesting interview segments will be online.
