Shalom Ahk Daooeed! Thank you so much for your belief in me and your comments. Kickstarter only allows pledge campaigns to go for 30 - 60 days. With each campaign, you have to be able to deliver incentives that come as a result of your project. So $1,000 or even $2,000 at a time is not enough to produce something that can be offered as an incentive. Also, because I am recording the album live in the studio, it drastically reduces my cost for musicians. If I break the album up into 1 song here or 2 songs there, I will have to pay the band each time they come out to the studio as compared to paying them for one extended session. I agree that this is a great medium to raise money. However, many of our people still do not trust the internet and don't want to give their cards out online. I ran into this a lot. Many have expressed their desire to contribute and were just not able to within the time parameters of my campaign. To this end, I have set up a paypal account. This way, people can give when they can and I will still give the same incentives. The email address to locate it is spokensoulmusic@yahoo.com. Again, todah for your love and support! Fhena

Posted project update #2The Collaborations!
Post CommentPeace Everyone!
You see OUR total is slowing climbing. I am not concerned with the rate at which it climbs as long as by the 22nd it says 8,500! And I know it is going to happen.
Just wanted to let you all know that I just finished a Skype session with T'Keyah Crystal Keymah (In Living Color, Cosby, That's So Raven). Many don't know but she is also a poet and vocalist. We will be joining our creative energies on a song for the album! It promises to be amazing! There is another surprise connected with that but I have to keep it under wraps for now.
Also look for collaborations on the project with Reginald Prince, Randevyn, Cleveland, Keite Young & Rhonda Thomas!
I want you to be excited and spread the word to your family, friends and network!
LOVE!!!!

Posted project update #12 WEEKS TO GO! LET'S DO THIS!
Post CommentOk....so I have been working...in the lab...so excited!!!!
Many of those who know me know that I have been an undercover singer as well as a spoken soul artist. I am coming out of hiding. I wrote a song for me and my song-brother Randevyn to collab on and there is not a bit of poetry in it. The song is awesome and I can't wait for all of you to hear it.
Started writing a song last night with Reginald Prince...he who I call The Voice. You have seen him grace the stage alongside me providing the vocal backdrop for what I do.
Keite Young and I are writing our song...a Keite Young & Fhena collabo????? Am I even ready for that????
Went to Soul Sound Studios a couple of months back...had a song to give to Al the owner and producer and his brother singer and key master Tony. Duane Covert happened to be there so I threw him in the booth to do the backing vocals...Tony got in on those too. The result was a ruff track that is really really really really....Fhena. Wanna hear it???? Here it is! Not right here actually...but below. It is entitled "In The Wind".
So let's reach out together to everyone we know who appreciates artistry and a vibration of love & healing! We can do this!!!!
LOVE!!!!

HallelooYAH ! ! !
Shalom Fhena This is ahk Daooeed from Cincinnati,
i wanted to let you know that this is the first time in the community that this idea has been used the great thing is that you have shown that funds can be raised through this program.
Please continue to use this medium and make it a 6 months to a year type pledge instead of such a short time if possible and if not it looks like you can raise at least 15 hundred dollars every 2 months or have 28 backers within that time period. If that is the case do the pledge in 1000 dollar steps.
In other words do eight pledges throughout the year for $1000 each that way you will make sure to reach your goal.
The idea is fantastic and needs to continue to be used.
This was a victory sista to be able to get that much in pledges from just 28 people.
YAH KHAI ! ! !
YAH Bless and keep you and your families in perfect peace
Shalom Ahk Daooeed!
