Posted project update #1Thank you!!!
Post CommentHey everyone!!
My project has been officially funded and I just wanted to THANK YOU ALL for your generous donations on behalf of the Greater Hope Organization. You have personally helped towards giving over 100 children a better education, future and life in a place where hope can be quite scarce.
The bracelets and drawings are on their way to me and as soon as Amazon clears the payments, I will be ordering all the books and prints. For those who have chosen the print option, I will be getting in touch with you soon with a link to an online gallery from where you may choose your image from. Thank you for your patience in receiving the gifts, it may take up to 30 days.
Please make sure that your shipping information is up to date in the Kickstarter system.
I will be in touch.
THANK YOU AGAIN!!!!Erica Simone

Posted project update #1Updates on Cambodia, etc.
Hello everyone,
First of all, thank you all so much for your generous donations!!!!
I have preponed the departure date to February and will be staying for a month, most likely 3 weeks in Siem Reap at the Anjali House (http://www.anjali-house.com/html) where I will be teaching English, arts and crafts, math and youth studies to orphans and children in difficulty and then hopefully will be traveling to the capital, Phenom Peng for a week to photograph and help at a local orphanage. The Anjali House does miracles for local children in need - they provide clean water, food and education to children who have either grown up in the streets begging for money to survive, or have been raised in a home with ill or abusive parents. They strive to teach these children English and the way of the world in order to help them get good jobs and give them a brighter future. They have a wonderful arts and crafts and photography program that also gets the children to be creative and explore things they never would have the opportunity to do otherwise.
I would like to share that I'm almost half way through the fundraising deadline on Kickstarter, and I'm SO happy and thankful to all of you who have donated so far - it's 77% funded as of today! Woohoo! Also, the more I raise, beyond the $4,111 goal, the more I will be able to bring with me in terms of text books, arts and craft supplies and things to donate to the orphanages.
If you happen to have things lying around the house that you think I could use for the trip, PLEASE let me know. Arts and crafts supplies (pencils, paints, glitter, etc.), books for children, unused medical supplies, anything...
Also, it seems as if as of now I will be traveling alone - so if you or anyone you know would be interested in sharing the experience with me please let me know ASAP! The trip would be from February 6-March 6th-ish...
Thank you for all of your donations and blessings in this project, it really means a lot!

Your life will never be the same. It is wonderful to see your passion and sincerity in the work you are doing, not to mention the amazingly creative angles your photography brings to the table.. Can't wait to see the photos and I'm very proud of you.
