Posted project update #4Write an Amazon review of We Are WI? Plus two upcoming events.
Post CommentHi friends,
Just wanted to drop a line to let you know that every last book and poster has been shipped to you awesome Kickstarter backers -- so if you haven't received yours, let me know.
If you've been enjoying what you've been reading, it'd be great if you could take a second to write a short review on Amazon.com -- even just a few words will help ensure that more people see the book:http://www.wearewisconsinbook.com/amazon
And for those of you near Chicago or Madison, we have two more events coming up this month. Details are below, and thank you again for your incredible support.

Posted project update #3Last We Are Wisconsin update--books, events, and new website
Post CommentThat's where to find the book and the latest updates in this bold new post-Kickstarter era.
This will likely be my last post here, but I wanted to thank you all again, and let you know that your books and posters and PDFs will be on their way shortly. It's taken longer than planned to get everything together and shipped out, but thank you for your patience.
The initial reaction to the book has been great. On Monday we had an incredible book launch in DC with more than 100 people. I was only in DC for two days, but managed to experience my first earthquake and finally make it back to Chicago amidst a much crazier than expected trip. And last week we had our Chicago launch event at the In These Times gallery space, which was showing an exhibit of Wisconsin poster art--a perfect backdrop for the night. Check out a few of my cameraphone pictures from the events below, as well as this blog post with video from the Chicago panel. Wisconsin book events are in the works for this fall too.
Many thanks to you all for helping get this project off the ground--it's been an amazing journey so far. -

Posted project update #2Photos: Books and posters are here!
Post CommentHello all,
We're now up to an incredible 104 backers for We Are Wisconsin. I've been amazed by the support from friends and strangers alike, so a big thanks to each of you.
The exciting news is that the shipment of books just arrived, and they look great (if I do say so myself). The posters are in too--when I was in Wisconsin for the recall elections last week, in the midst of the craziness I managed to meet up with artist Colin Matthes for a book/poster exchange at the Amtrak station in Milwaukee just minutes before my train left. And over the weekend I enlisted my rad photographer friend Chris Dilts to take some photos of the books and Colin's Union Made poster, so check 'em out below.
Also, we're holding two book release events this month, and they're fast approaching: The first is in Chicago this Wednesday, August 17, and the second is in DC on Monday, August 22. Wisconsin events are in the works for September.
The Kickstarter campaign ends at midnight Wednesday, so after that expect an email where we'll get your address to get you your books.
Thank you again for being part of this project and this story,
Erica

Posted project update #1Kicked our Kickstarter goal's butt in six hours!
Hello backers—all glorious 63 of you. Thank you so so much for your support—it's really exciting to see the project I've worked on these past few months be birthed into the world and welcomed by your warm arms.
About six hours after going live on Tuesday, we kicked our Kickstarter goal's butt and kept going, up to more than $1,600 pledged as I write this. Which is pretty amazing. That means the project is ON.
Many thanks as well to everyone who posted the link on Facebook/tweeted/shared the project with friends—that's a big part of why this has been so successful. We still have a number of days left before the Kickstarter project deadline, so we're going to keep spreading the word to get as many backers and pre-orders as we can in the next two weeks.
I'm also cooking up several book launch events later this month, one in Chicago and one in Washington, DC. I'll keep you posted with the details on those. Thanks, <3, and #solidarity,
Erica

Will there be a book launch event in WIsconsin? Would make some sense, don't you think?
I'm hoping to, yes! I have some planning in the works for possible Madison and Milwaukee events, but if you have ideas or are able to help, let me know. Thanks.
I will be back in Madison on September 25, so let me know if you want help organizing a launch in October!
