    Update for summer 2011

    Hey everyone!

Just thought I would send out a long overdue update for you. As many of you know, the film is complete and has had some very nice screenings at the lovely Hollywood Theatre here in Portland. An upcoming screening is set for Nov. 3rd at the Pickford Theater in Bellingham Washington. I'm also currently in talks for others and waiting to hear back from several film festivals as well. I have uploaded some pictures from our screenings, Q and A's, and after parties at http://www.flickr.com/photos/epdavee/ We also had some very nice local press which you can link to from our IMDB page: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1560983/externalreviews Just for fun, I have uploaded some stills from the film, pictures from the true story and characters that inspired the film, as well as some a few frandom visual inspirations for comparison here: http://epdavee.wordpress.com/

If you feel like it, please consider "liking" our facebook page if you haven't already:http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pages/How-the-Fire-Fell/124616477592255. Also, if you've seen the film, please consider giving it a ranking and/or review on IMDB!

It takes a long time to get a film out into the world and I am hoping to step things up to get as many screenings as I can for Fall. I will try to keep you posted. Thank you so much, once again, for your wonderful support. The surprising generosity has inspired me to help  others on kickstarter myself (currently supporting and helping drum up support for this one: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/emiliesabath/while-the-trees-sleep Please give it a look!). In today's world, it's extremely difficult to find funding for films. Without this new system of "crowd funding" I would not have been able to complete How the Fire Fell. You all helped make it possible and i can't thank you enough.

I am currently helping HFF Cinematographer Scott Ballard with his next feature film and writing what i believe will be my second one, which I hope to shoot next year. As insanely difficult and traumatic as feature film making is, it's kind of an addiction. I don't plan to stop anytime soon.I will keep you posted!

I hope you are all well!

    take care,

    E.P. Davee

    Private screening

    Hello Everyone,

I'm sorry I have not updated in so long. Things have been insanely busy for me. Just got off a 3 day stint Assistant Directing and co-producing our Cinematographer Scott Ballard's feature film "Welcoming Departure". As soon as I got back it was nothing but more soundtrack mixing. On Saturday We had a 12 hr session mixing music at John's studio. The next day it was 7 hours at Jason's for sound mix. On top of that, a mountain of paperwork, emails, promotion, editing adjustments, moving to a new apt, and going back to my full time job!

If you have not heard already, I have changed the name of the film from "Story of Hurt" to "How the Fire Fell". A private screening is set for next Thursday, Nov. 4th at 7pm at the historic Hollywood Theater in Portland. I hope you all can make it!

Once again, I am extremely grateful for all of your support. All Kickstarter rewards will be sent out after the screening. Hope to see you all there!!

    take care,
    Edward P. Davee
