Yes -- I use a Mac for all my development. I'm working on an easy-to-use dedicated downloader for the Mac right now, but it's not quite ready. In the meantime you can use this: http://dfu-programmer.sourceforge.net/

Is this going to work on a Mac?

It should be just the prototypes that are delayed, but nothing's certain yet -- the next couple will weeks will really tell. As of yet, it's still on course for a June delivery of both the bluetooth and non-bluetooth.

@mookmill -- yes, I'm so thankful to be done with tweezers! The production machines will be placing multiple parts per second with much greater precision -- definitely the way to do it!

@drewish - 22.6kb out of 128kb are used, so we've got some space to play with! Especially since that already includes the LCD, Menu and USB drivers! And yes -- I had a hotshoe monitor in mind when I added the extra port. Again, there's no firmware support yet, but monitoring the flash for more precise timing is in the plans (and the hardware is ready for it).

    Prototype Production: Behind the scenes

The 25 prototypes have been shipped to backers to play with and test!  This is a huge step along the way toward completion!

While getting feedback from the testers, I'm also preparing for production.  The longest-lead item, the LCDs, have been ordered!  Everything is still on track depending on how many corrections are needed after further testing.

Here is a set of photos from the prototype production.  I assembled them all myself, which became more work than I originally planned!  There are now about 60 tiny surface-mount parts per device, each needing to be carefully placed with a tweezers.  Multiply that by 25 and you get 1500 parts...I'm so glad to be past that!

Wow, after a whole year, I'll be receiving a Timelapse+ ---before--- the Trigger Trap.
Both Kickstarter products don't do the same thing, not the same toy, but both are similar in :
        - designing the electronics
        - designing the case
        - dealing with multiple suppliers
        - assembly

IOW Elijah, KUDOS, you've managed a A-Z product from pure thought to pure product, ready to ship. Not an easy feat. I just wish I had ordered more than one :) to gift my photographer friends.

@Ryan -- yes, the firmware will be open-source. I'm still getting it organized and completely ported (from the original MCU) in preparation to release it.

@Roy -- the fastest shutter speed is limited to about 1/10 of a second in bulb mode on the camera (too short and the camera just ignores it, or is inconsistant). This is why having USB host control is so great -- there will then be no limit on shutter speed when set via USB (only the camera's limits). So better shutter control, as well as ISO and Aperture will come once USB support is added to the firmware.

oh wow, that's great, especially considering how horrible their menu system is. it makes me appreciate the bramper all the more, you have to remember what button does what but there no scrolling through a maze of cryptic menu items trying to remember which arrow does what. but yeah the demo video has me really excited about this.

In the menu map, can I assume that the vertical columns - navigated by up/down - wrap at top and bottom, so you can go (for example) directly from "Simple Timer" to "Settings" with one key press?
