    Editing, editing, editing

    Hello Friends,

I got 2 new blog posts for you here -

    http://theidiocraticlife.wordpress.com/2012/01/11/a-glimpse-into-the-radical-faeries/

    http://theidiocraticlife.wordpress.com/2011/11/23/east-wind-of-the-ozarks-missouri/

I finished the filming!  I am still alive!  There were some close calls with pissed off hippies and a train I got a bit close to in Kansas, but all in all I am whole and healthy.

Lately it has been editing..... boring boring boring.  I am sitting next to about 200 pages of transcribed interviews and trying to figure out where everything fits.  I finished up with about 3.5 terabytes of information.  In terms of video, that breaks down like this

    4 gigabytes = 12 minutes

    1 terabyte = roughly 48 hours

3.5 terabytes = roughly 6 days of video

of course there are many time lapses and photos mixed in there, plus a season of How I met your Mother, love that show.

So editing is what I will be doing for a long long time, apologies for being off schedule.  Bet your bottom dollar that this will be a great documentary and please be patient.

And thanks for all the continuing support.  :)

From a cafe in Carrboro, North Carolina,

    "The Ranch" and U.F.O.'s

    Hello Everyone,

I apologize for being as bit off the radar for a minute. After the madness of the "Ranch" I wanted to clear my head and work on some transcribing to see where the project is. Somehwere between here and there my computer died so it has been hard to keep updates.

I have updated the blog twice since I last talked with you guys.

This is the update from the Ranch -

    http://theidiocraticlife.wordpress.com/2011/08/21/on-the-road/

and this is the latest update -

    http://theidiocraticlife.wordpress.com/2011/09/18/2-weeks-in-the-desert-and-the-hopi-tribe/?preview=true&preview_id=131&preview_nonce=8c68191045

Currently, I am well and safe in an egalitarian community with a population of about 79 deep within the Ozarks of Missouri. Things are going well and the leaves are begining to change. I hope it is as beautiful where you are as it is here.

    Sincerely,

    Kent

    The Blog is up!

    Hello Everyone,

Sorry for the delay on getting this blog up, it has been a crazy month!  Here is the link to the blog - http://theidiocraticlife.wordpress.com/

There, you will all find your names listed in the support section under about.  If you see anything wrong with your link, please tell me and I will fix it.  If you wanted a link but you didn't get one to me in time, just let me know and I will post it.  :)

So far I have been documenting Alpha Farm, a Quaker community in Oregon.  They have been very kind to me and I think they will serve as a good example of how a community can work together effectively.  I was amazed by their work ethic.

I was turned away from the Radical Faerie gathering, which is unfortunate but only a little surprising.  :(

Now I am off to document "The Ranch" in northern California.  Wish me well and thanks for being there!

    Cheers,

    Kent

24 hours left and the blog

    Hey Everyone,

The kickstarter has been a great success and it is all thanks to your faith in the project to which I am so very appreciative for.  :)

I have begun launching a blog for the site and posted about the experience at the Rainbow Gathering.  My personal experience is not something I could film but very interesting, it deals with lawlessness, racism and friendship on many levels that I have never experienced.  Have a read at it when you get the time - http://ekfproductions.blogspot.com/p/idiocratic-life-intentional-communities.html

If you guys would like your website listed on the supporters page of the blog, please send it my way, otherwise I will take a guess at it.  If you would like me to post any note beside your name please tell me at kentkessinger@gmail.com

Since this is the last 24 hours I would appreciate you guys spreading this kickstarter page as much as you can for one final push of funding.  This is the link - http://kck.st/m1VCry

Thanks for all the support guys, it has been a great joy to know so many people are behind this and I will be working hard on it.

    Cheers,

    Kent

    Dealing with Freedom and Autonomy

    Hey Everybody,

We made it out of the Rainbow Gathering alive!  However I did pick up a funky sickness that has left me in Portland for about 4 days.  In the meantime, I put something together about the Rainbow Gathering that is a primer for the bigger project.  It is about moral psychology and dealing with the pressures of making your own rules.  Here is part one - I hope you enjoy and please pass it on!  Thanks for helping make this happen.  :)
