Posted project update #11We did it!
Woo-hoo! Alright you guys, we did it! Final stats: 299 Backers, $20,420 raised, 116% funded, an infinity of love and thanks to you!
It will take a couple weeks for everything to process, and once that's all sorted, we'll be sending an email out to get all the info we need to send your rewards and get accurate names for credits and the website. The new website is under construction, btw, and we're pushing toward a Feb. 1 launch date. See, you're already getting all the news first. ; )
And that's because you're part of the family now, so I'll be switching over to the mailing list to keep you up to date on our continuing progress.
And while we have loads of work before us, a never-ending ocean of work, we're doing it with the collaboration of our peers and the support of our community, and that's the only we way could do it.
Thank you so, so much for riding this train with us. I'll be back in touch soon to get all the info we need to fulfill rewards. But tonight, I'm going to have a scotch, and maybe watch a movie. I'm in a Casablanca mood, but then I'm sappy like that. Thanks guys.

Posted project update #10Final hours!
A quick reminder that we're in the final hours of our fundraising drive on Kickstarter.Post CommentLast night, three teams of filmmakers ran a multi-city shoot in NY, DC, and Philadelphia and we're excited to get this footage together and turn this into a sequence. The Kickstarter is providing us with the funds to collect all this media, store it, and back it up on a secure off-site hard drive array. We're also now fundraising to pay for some editing time in NY.
The funds that have come in are the absolute lifeblood of a production that is both independent and volunteer-based and yet a huge undertaking! Your support is what allows us to make this film.
So everyone, please have a great weekend, and just one last time, please post online to help the film stock up on funding as much as we can. The Kickstarter campaign ends at 9 pm EST tonight - just 7 hours to go. http://kck.st/uydZ3p
Thank you! And thank you so much for your support throughout this process!

Posted project update #9Last Days
Post Comment
Hello! We'e been so lucky to be supported by so many, thank you! Now in the final 3 days of our Kickstarter campaign, we have hit our first goal and are now trying to reach 125% funded by Friday night. If we can reach that $21,875 goal, it will pay for the first month of editing! Exciting! We've also just dropped all the prices on the rewards that no one has pledged for, and literally just added a whole slew of new Bright Eyes and Conor Oberst rewards. These are signed and many also have little messages from Conor!
If you've been waiting for the right time to pledge, please wait no longer! The honest truth is that we have way more expenses than any of this will pay for, and we're trying to stretch every dollar to cover as much as we can. Our ambition, passion and dedication are much bigger than our wallets! We're still covering many things on our credit cards and praying we'll eventually bring in enough to cover that. It's a little scary, but we completely believe in this film. Thank you all for believing in it with us, and if you've not yet pledged, please do so now if you can. And If you have already pledged, please increase your pledge if you're able, or stop back by and see if there's a new reward with your name on it.
http://kck.st/uydZ3pThank you so much, and onward! Oh, and these images are from one of our newest contributors, Casey Scalf in Washington!

Posted project update #8Final week!
Post CommentHi, thanks to everyone who attended the one-time screening event last night. It was good to chat and get feedback, and to give a peek at what we're working with.
As of today, we have 5 days left on our fundraising campaign (it ends Friday at 9 pm EST) , and we've hit our goal. We're currently at 107% funded - thank you all for making that happen! - and that means we've nearly covered the administrative Kickstarter fees that come out (between 5-10%).
We're tremendously happy to have hit our $17,500 goal, but we don't want to rest there. If can somehow hit 125% funded, for a total of $21,875, that will allow us to both cover the fees, and also to put a couple thousand toward editing expenses, our next goal. If we could hit 150% funded in the next 5 days, well, that's almost certainly hoping for more than is possible. It's hard to raise additional funding on a campaign that's hit it's goal, although there are some amazing examples of projects that have hit over 200%, even 300% funded. With us actually on production, we just don't have the time for the full court press - which is why we're asking again for everyone to please send out a letter to friends, and to post online to encourage others to support this film.
Thank you so much for bringing us this far. We know we'll get everything we need to finish this film, and we're working hard to make it great.
Thank you,
Audrey and the 99% Film Team

Posted project update #7Great news! Together, we made this happen!
We reached our goal today! Thank you for being part of this process! The support from everyone has been amazing. This means the hard drives will be bought, the footage will be collected and backed up, and we will be able to start seriously working with the material, and on the technical issues associated with conforming media that is shot on anything from iphones to the Red camera.
In the next week, any funds that come in over our goal will be put toward the next task: having a great lead editor come onto the project and work on the core thread of the film. This is a position that we need someone to dedicate themselves to fulltime. So unless they’re independently wealthy, this needs to be a salaried position. Any extra that comes in on this Kickstarter will go toward that; so please continue to let your friends know about the film.
The wonderful news is that we’re in a much better position now and we have the funds to get us to the next step. Thank you for making this Kickstarter campaign a success and bringing this film so much further down the path toward completion.
Congratulations to all of us. Now we’re getting right back to work, because there is still so much to do! Thank you all for your support!

Posted project update #5You're invited! (One-time screening event - and you're the first to find out!)
Post CommentHi, I hope you've been enjoying the holidays. We've been very busy, and you're the first to know:
This January 7th at 7:30 pm EST we’re holding a screening of 45 minutes of footage that’s been shot for our film, on Constellation.TV. This is a one-time event, so save the date!
This is the direct link to reserve your spot for the online screening: www.constellation.tv/99percent. Or if you need a reminder like I do, this is the Facebook invite: https://www.facebook.com/events/269714326419677/ (Also a good way to invite your friends to join in.)
Normally $3.99, you guys get a Kickstarter backer 50% discount: just enter "thanks" and your ticket will only cost $2. And proceeds go toward our Kickstarter campaign.
So please go to www.constellation.tv/99percent and sign up for the screening, and also let your friends know with Facebook, twitter and emails – or even just by telling them over coffee (it is the holiday season after all). We'll have filmmakers giving commentary on the clips, and then afterward there will be a Q % A with many more of us. So please join us for this special one-off event!
We have just over two weeks left to raise the remaining $11,000 we need to reach our goal. We can do it (we have to do it), but we need your help to get there. Please let others know about this film, Kickstarter campaign, and screening event.Thank you,
AudreyP.S. We’re coordinating a nationwide shoot right now, I wish I could tell you more about it, but all I can say right now is that it’s going to be EPIC in the finished film. I shouldn’t hint and not tell you, but we’re very excited about this one! Come for the Q & A, and we’ll see what we let slip. ; )

Posted project update #4Happy Holidays!
Post CommentHello dear supporters, we hope you’re already enjoying some holiday coziness or getting ready to settle into some time with friends and family. We want to wish you happy holidays, and to let you know that a few new rewards have been added, with more to come. We also have a request, which is very bold seeing as you’re all backing us already. But the holidays are a tough time for fundraising, and we’re committed to making this successful.
We’d like to ask you to send an email to friends and family, to let them know about this film and this Kickstarter campaign, and to ask them to support it too. Maybe you’ll send this now, or maybe right after the holidays. You’ll know best what to do. To make it easy and quick, we’ve written up a sample letter. We don’t know your friends and family, so this is just a template. Please change it however feels right to you. The more people we can reach, the greater chance we have of succeeding.
We had a production meeting today, and our resolve is redoubled. We must make this work. We must reach our goal. And we need your help. Please take a minute to do this, and thank you for the support you’ve already given us.
We wish you the happiest of holidays.
Audrey and the teamSample letter:
Dear Friends,
At the outset of the Occupy Wall Street movement, a team of filmmakers put out a call to all filmmakers to collaborate in creating "99% (The Occupy Wall Street Collaborative Film)." They started a Kickstarter campaign to help fund this film, and I am one of more than 300 people who have pledged to support this film.It remains to be seen what footage will make the final cut. But the process – one that is mirroring the OWS movement itself in some respects - is exciting and ultimately in the hands of some seasoned and skilled filmmakers. It is miraculously (and with lots of hard work from the filmmaking team) already coming together. It's thrilling to participate in whatever way I can in bringing the movement to moving image, to help amplify the narrative and enrich the conversation.
The funds from the Kickstarter campaign are essential for making this a topnotch production! Read more about the film and process on the website. I ask for your help in spreading the news of this innovative film and the essential fundraising campaign.
Art has been an integral part of the Occupy movement since it started, and the filmmakers have incorporated this into the film's funding drive as well. Please take a moment to look at the site, maybe pick up an artwork while supporting a great film, and let other art and film lovers know that there's a unique opportunity right now to support a unique film made in the ethos of the Occupy Movement itself.
Please be a part of history by participating in this with me. Donate, pass it on through your FB and Twitter networks, and reach out to other art and film lovers.

A great day for OWS and supporters, finally it's clear that one of the most important movements and the great people who has sacrificed a lot the last months, will get their well-deserved documentary, their history "written" :)
I'm looking forward to see what happens - and the result in the end!
Best wishes for the future, to Alexander, you did what you could :)
Good luck to all !
