Posted project update #7Silver Bells short film - THANK YOU
Post CommentWanted to share with our backers, a letter that was sent to the Cast and Crew of Silver Bells this evening.
Silver Bells Cast and Crew,
This day is one that I have been dreading for some time. Our Kickstarter campaign started on August 1st and attracted more than a dozen supporters in the first two weeks. Though we were expecting a roller coaster ride of support with a rally here and there, we just didn't generate enough excitement to keep our campaign going with the momentum that we needed.
It's extremely disappointing to me that I have to inform all of you that Silver Bells production will be on an indefinite hold. Without the funds needed to ensure a professional production, it's just not a viable option to move forward at this time.
I want to thank the cast and crew and express my gratitude for your dedication and commitment for this venture. Your belief in our project and the story of Silver Bells will always serve as wonderful inspiration to me. I look forward to someday being able to realize my dream of seeing Silver Bells make it to the screen.
I wish each and every one of you the best of success on all future endeavors.
Keep breathing the life you love into the indie filmmaking community.

Posted project update #6Hopeful All The Way Until The End!
Post CommentWe’re encouraged by the achievement of others and inspired to hear about how they overcame difficult odds. But what happens when things don't go as planned? It’s been hard to watch Kickstarter this last week, as we have seen very little momentum. At 9:42pm Pacific Time we will have 17 days before our campaign ends. Silver Bells Kickstarter campaign is currently 10% funded with a long way to go…
I really appreciate everyone that has supported Silver Bells short film and believe in this project. I’m happy that I was able to share the story with our first 25 backers! It means a lot to me to know other writers, filmmakers and those that love film have read and know the story of Silver Bells.
We remain optimistic that a rally of supporters will come forward toward the end of our campaign and provide that miracle that we desperately need. I never have a fear of failure with any project or venture; my biggest concern is the disappointment of others. Silver Bells short film is an “all or nothing” venture that will always live in my heart knowing that I gave it a good try.
I will remain hopeful all the way until the end… that we just might be able to share this wonderful story with the world.

Posted project update #5Getting My Sandwich-Board Ready!
Post CommentThanks so much for your support for Silver Bells short film.
We seem to have lost our momentum and I may be out of friends and contacts willing to support our project. So now I turn to you, those who have already shown great generosity.
To date, we have raised $1,510 - We would need to find 540 more backers in the next 22 days each donating $25.00 to reach the goal. Sounds doable, and definitely possible! If each one of you kind and generous people found ONE friend to donate, and that friend found ONE friend to donate and so on… we'd have a shot at reaching the goal. I know many of you have been spreading the word about Silver Bells and sharing our link on Twitter and Facebook, which is greatly appreciated, but for whatever reason, it seems that we’ve hit a wall. I've found that personally contacting people is a tried and true way to get results.
I’m not above standing on a busy highway intersection wearing a sandwich-board sign asking for support. I just don’t know if a permit is needed? Anyone want to join me? I’ve contacted local radio stations in hopes of broadcasting our story for support. This still may happen…
I humbly ask each one of you to continue spreading the word on Silver Bells and share the link to our wonderful project. It’s all or nothing. It will be the difference between us reaching the goal and not getting this special film made.
Silver Bells is 10% funded with 22 days to go… we can still make this happen. Let your friends, family and filmmaking peers know about our wonderful project!
Responses from some of the first 25 backers that have received Silver Bells in PDF:

Posted project update #4Miracles DO Happen!
Post CommentOur Kickstarter campaign to raise awareness and support for “Silver Bells short film” continues with undying passion! We would not have made it this far without all of the support from everyone that has so graciously donated to our venture. Thank you for believing in our project and making a commitment to lend your support.
Optimism is the key that can unlock an endless amount of potential. Silver Bells short film is 10% funded with 24 days to go toward a successful campaign. We continue to move forward with the same passion and optimism that will ensure we achieve our fundraising goal!
We are still in the process of making selections on principal actors and supporting cast. I’m sure there will be excitement in the Seattle area, specifically within the filmmaking community regarding “Silver Bells” principal cast.

Post CommentWe’ve had an amazing start to our Kickstarter fundraising campaign for ‘Silver Bells’. To date, we are 9% funded in five days with 9 backers! We are very humbled by the outpouring of support and your continued commitment to spreading the word of our project via Twitter, Facebook, and your own personal websites. This kind of support is what makes projects possible for indie filmmakers and our creative peers.
We continue to be extremely optimistic that we are going to reach our goal, but we cannot do it without your support. You have all done so much already by spreading the word about our project and contributing to this endeavor. We cannot thank you enough for all that you have done. Phil and I are telling more and more people about ‘Silver Bells’ and letting them know about our soon to be production. We know there are many people out there that support the arts and are just waiting for the right inspiration to help out. We just need to let them know about our project!
We’ve enjoyed the awesome support in the first five days and are focused on picking up exposure along the way. We still have 30 days left to gain the additional support needed to realize a successful campaign. According to Kickstarter statistics, if we can get 25% funded, we will have a 94% chance of reaching our goal.
We believe a great film starts with a great story. Phil and I, along with our fantastic supporters, believe that ‘Silver Bells’ will provide the audience with a re-captured glimpse into a story with heart that is wrapped in the wonder of the Christmas season! Silver Bells is that great story!
We want to thank everyone who has contributed and to those who continue to spread the word on ‘Silver Bells’. Thanks for dedicating a part of your life and your time to our wonderful endeavor.
Thanks for your support!
