    The first Daily strip

And here's the first daily. As I said, you can't understand the opposite sex without first understanding humanity. Seeing things from the male viewpoint is invaluable. Now, when you look at this strip, you may say "that's not relevant anymore. That was thousands of years ago when men thought that way."
Not necessarily. I'm trying to comment on a cross-section of humanity. Not just an American best case scenario. There are still places in the world where women are treated as property. Yes, mostly in 3rd world countries. But also in parts of Nepal, China, Africa. "White slavery" still exists. And women are very much aware of that.

    GET TO KNOW ME!!!

    Hey, Gang,
I know I'm behind posting strips. Will get one out tomorrow. For now, here's a couple of interviews with me so you can get to know who's putting this thing together. First, an audio podcast:

    And a conventional Q-n-A

    A look at Sunday

    Hi, again,
As I said, it's a little difficult to read the strips in the pitch video, so I want to present some of them here with liner notes to give some insight to the process. As we progress, we'll go past the 7 strips presented in the video.
So, here's the first strip. It's in the tradigional form of one Sunday followed by 6 daily's, then repeat.
The thing that I hope you'll take away from this example is that no one is doing right or wrong here. There just "is". Men and women are genetically hard-wired to do certain things and can resist it no more than salmon can resist swimming upstream to spawn.
(Do not interpret that as a free-pass to break laws or act in an anti-social, predatory or destructive manner, however)

    Hello, again . . .

. . . and welcome to my kickstarter page for "Understanding Women, the Comic strip". There's been a lot of talk about "diversity" in comics lately and I'd like to think that a self-help/psychology/relationship strip is about as different from anything you're likely to find on the stands today.

I'd like to take a moment to thank those who have pledged. You helped to launch this campaign and I appreciate the grass roots exposure that only you can provide. I hope you'll tell your friends about it as well.

I fully intend to show my appreciation for my patrons by making them as much a part of the process as possible by posting regular updates. You'll be watching the process in "real time".

I also know that it's sometimes a little difficult to read the strips in the video, so I'll be regularly posting individual strips with "liner notes". That starts with the next post.

For now, I will leave you an image of the top reward. A page from the Blade Runner adaptation illustrated and signed by the legendary Al Williamson. This reward goes to anyone who donates the full sum of the project budget.
I thank you again for your support and hope to be talking with you soon.
    Best!
    David Miller

    Thank you for your support.

    Hello, everyone,
as you've seen, I have cancelled this fund-raising project. There were many reasons for this decision. Basically, the nature of the project and it's needs have evolved over time and I think I need to take it in a different direction.
But please understand that I greatly appreciate your support and contributions to this project. It's a project that I greatly believe in and will continue funding it with my own resources.
I hope you will continue supporting this series by ordering a copy at your local comic shop or mail order service.

I will continue to post updates and previews on this page and on our website:
    www.futurians-avatar.com

    Thank you so much.
    Sincerely,
    David Miller

    Well, We're Off!

In the immortal words of Grover from sesame Street "HELLO Everybodeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

It's taken a little longer than I wanted but my kickstarter page is live and I want to thank the people who have already donated. Your pledges have made the page public and more people can see it now than ever.

I'm very excited about the Kickstarter experience. Especially in regards to the comics medium. Comics is one of the few artforms created in the 20th century. Others like painting, sculpture, writing, etc have been marinating and generating their support base for centuries.

Comics is still something of the illegitimate stepchild to the artforms that have preceded it. Though I'm happy to see that perception changing as well.

And because of that fact, I don't see the people who donate to this site as "backers", but as "patrons". Patrons of the arts. Like Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Oprah. You're helping to bring about a new renaissance.

I will be posting regularly to this page. I'll rotate between print, video and audio to keep you updated on what's going on. Please stick with us. You'll be proud of what your support will help create.
