    Status

    Hello Comrades,

Happy New Year! Hope you all had (or are having) a lovely break for the holidays. We wanted to give a quick update on the status of everything.

The majority of you should have received your Cosmonaut by now, or at the very least received a shipping confirmation that it is on its way. If neither of these is true, it likely means you never filled in the address survey. If you never received the Cosmonaut or even a shipping notice, sent us a message and we'll track down the problem and get it straightened out. If you are overseas and haven't received it yet, sit tight, there are quite a few still in transit we imagine.

On the whole, people are loving their Cosmonauts, and we are pretty pumped about that. Here are a couple nice reviews that have surfaced on the internet:

"The Cosmonaut exudes quality. Writing with the Cosmonaut is satisfyingly firm and perfectly controlled, and it glides over the screen perfectly. I can’t really describe the gliding feel any better: it’s just perfect." - Marco Arment

"In my opinion, this is currently the best iPad stylus available; comfortable, accurate and good-looking, too." - Gigaom

Unfortunately, it's not all roses. We have discovered that a batch of Cosmonauts were shipped out in which the tips did not meet our quality level. Essentially, the tips were not conductive enough, so you would need to press quite hard for them to register. In practice, using the Cosmonaut should be quite effortless, so this is not good. Fortunately, we think this only affected a small number of people, and we can easily correct the problem by sending a replacement tip. So, if you feel you were one of the unlucky few that received a dud tip, please send us a Kickstarter message or an email to hello@studioneat.com and we'll make it right. We want you to love your Cosmonaut. We're really sorry this happened, but feel it's about par for the course considering all the hiccups we've experienced in this project. And, just to be clear (and to save us from getting some email), the gap of air in-between the tip and core is by design, this is so the tip is able to compress slightly and register on the screen properly.

We also want to take this moment to thank you all so much for your support, and for sticking with us. The two of us were reminiscing about this crazy journey, and we realized that if it weren't for Kickstarter and the 6000+ backers that supported us, we probably would have given up on the Cosmonaut. Although it was incredibly stressful at times, having the support of this many people pushed us to make something great.

    Thanks, and here's to a great 2012.

    Tom & Dan

Hello, it appears that a small number of you are receiving tips that are not performing as designed. The pocket of air in-between the tip and the core is definitely intentional, this is so the tip is able to compress to register correctly on the screen. However, you shouldn't need to press *super* hard for it to register, it should be effortless. If you think your tip is defective, shoot us an email to hello@studioneat.com and we can work things out. Thanks!

@Brandon - that is indeed by design (and part of what made the manufacturing so tricky). The tip needs to be able to compress slightly so it registers properly on the screen.

@Vagner and @Esben - Sorry guys, didn't catch this in time. The post office should be able to hold them, but if you don't receive them when you return please let us know and we can send again. And in the future please message us directly instead of commenting, we will be able to deal with it faster. Thanks!
