    Everyday Exile Growth and Progress

Since the conclusion of my fund-raising drive here, Everyday Exile has grown and evolved.
We still need your help, so here are some ways to get involved:

Now an on-going online project with the final goal of publishing at least one book, Everyday Exile has a blog at: Everyday Exile Blog

a YouTube channel will be launched around 25 October 2010 Everyday Exile YouTube featuring interviews with Tibetans, Tibetan charities, and showing video of life in Tibetan settlements

We also have a shop called Support for Tibet, featuring Tibet and Buddhism related gifts, which funds the project Support for Tibet
Our first participants will be donating writing and photography within the next two weeks.
I will be back in India to conduct further research and interviews as of 14 October.

    Thanks again to all supporters!

    Success!

Thanks to a pledge on the final day of the fundraiser, "Everyday Exile" has been successfully funded!
First, a huge thank you to Alex Tromso for a $395 pledge! You are amazing! I am so grateful.

Although I have reached the pledge goal, which will cover many living expenses for my return to India, I could still use quite a bit more support!
If you are so inclined, please consider pledging an amount you feel is appropriate. The funds will go towards everyday necessities (food, medicines, supplies such as writing and art materials).

My projected return date is mid-October. I intend to stay until mid-March, possibly longer. The book will be written and photographed over the course of my stay and edited upon returning to the States.
I will be researching publishing options in the meantime.
Thanks again to everyone who pledged!

    Drive to the Finish

Well, folks, this is it! We have just over one week left to make this project happen.

I need $395 in the next 9 days...
YOU can be the one to make it happen.
Don't you feel these stories are worth telling? Don't you think Tibetan culture deserves to be preserved?
The people living in exile in McleodGanj are in danger of losing their cultural identity as years go by and more new generations are born in exile, raised with more and more influence from India and the west.
Each year fewer exiles make it out of Tibet, as China and Nepal are both cracking down on them.

Let's stick together to tell their stories before it is too late!
    Thank you for your time.
    Every dollar counts!

    Book Plan Evolving

Thanks to those who are supporting me as I move through the steps of this project.
The "Everyday Exile" book is taking shape, slowly.
I have completed a list of chapters I wish to include and a content outline for each.
I have selected a few photos from my first trip to McleodGanj to use.

I am now compiling a list of Tibetan government & religious leaders who I hope will agree to participate in this project. They will each be mailed a short list of questions to help give me a wider range of the population's experiences.

Watch for a new update next week, and look for a new backer reward by Saturday 6/12!

    Final Push for Full Funding!

This is it, friends! I am five days from the end of my project, and with $3762 still needed, it seems like only a miracle can help me meet my goal now.
    But, YOU are my miracle!
If every person on my social networks contributed as little as $1.50, I can easily beat this goal and return without financial worry to my work with the Tibetan exile community by autumn 2010!

Please pledge $1.50 or any amount you are able before June 2, 2010 at midnight!
    I need YOUR help.
    Every one of you.
    Thank you.
