[EN] The OERT team has been hard at work since our project reached its first funding goal at Christmas time. After 3 months, we are nearly ready to launch the www.oert.org site. We have also set up a discussion forum that we wish to invite you to join OERT Forum where all aspects of the project can be discussed. Who will analyze and review typefaces?

After 2 weeks we have raised nearly $2,000! Thank you to all our supporters so far!

We are now proud to announce  the typography experts who will analyze typefaces as part of the OERT project:

    • Ana Sanfelippo and Pablo Ugerman (CDT-UBA graduated; typeface analysis), César Puertas (KABK graduated; typeface analysis)
    • Pablo Cosgaya, Natalia Pano and Marcela Romero (FADU/UBA professors, design review)

Thanks to Josep Patau Bellart from Unos Tipos Duros and Daniel Hernandez from LatinoType for their support with this $100 reward!

We are also happy to announce the type designers who are offering private type design review consultations in support of this project:

    • Alejandro Paul, Sudtipos (AR)
    • Darío Muhafara, Tipo Foundry (AR)
    • Eduardo Tunni, Tipo Foundry (AR)
    • José Scaglione, TypeTogether (AR)
If you are working on a new typeface design independently, this is rare chance to have your work critiqued by these seasoned professionals. If you pledge $300 or more, you will be able to pick which expert reviews your work!

Please help us to spread the word about our project in our third week :-)

OERT.ORG is ours! And how else will we spend our funding...

    OERT.ORG is now ours!

I would like to be more precise about how we will spend the Kickstarter funding.

    Technology

The concrete project expenses are those required to make a high quality publication:

    • Domain Registration (done!)
    • Web hosting
    • Web development
    • Web design
    • Web maintenance

We will try to minimize these expenses as much as possible. Can you help our project by providing these services to us directly? Please email me, Pablo, at pc@catedracosgaya.com.ar and let our team know!

    Content Development

The bulk of the funding will be spent on allowing our experts to take time away from freelance work (but not teaching!)

They will be spending many hours required to make this project worthwhile. Funds are also required for professional translation - Google Translate is not enough :-)

    • Getting permission from original authors of all 26 booklets we use about the Theory of Type Design and Typography (done!)
    • Paying experts for their time to edit the text in Spanish (in process)
    • Paying professional illustration designers to create illustrations to aid understanding of this highly visual subject (in process)
    • Contacting potential contributors who are specialists in Typography and Type Design to participate in our project (in process)
    • Paying professional translators to translate the Spanish text into English (we require funding to start!)

Many of these activities have started already in our team's spare time.

Please help us to spread the word about our project.
