Posted project update #13International Premiere and Interview
Post CommentHello Argu-Donors!
I'm back from our international premiere at Stockholm and am so grateful I was able to attend! While we're still waiting to discover precisely where we head next with our little film, here is a brief interview I did with the Stockholm Film Festival regarding our project. Hope you enjoy, and thank you again for helping realize THE ARGUMENT.

Posted project update #9Just over a month away and so much to tell...
Post CommentDearest and esteemed investors of THE ARGUMENT / LA DISPUTE,
Much has transpired over the past months since you've last heard from me: I graduated from USC with an MFA in Film Production, I was lucky enough to stay on for the rest of Season 4 in the writer's office of MAD MEN as a research intern, I visited and ultimately declined the gorgeous opportunity afforded me by Oxford (with hopes and plans to return some day), and last week I just completed principle photography as an actor and producer on a dear colleague and friend's film, TWO SUMMERS AGO (dir/dp Stephen Ringer).
Now my focus has returned to my film for the home stretch of pre-production. I am headed to New Orleans to location scout next week and will hopefully return with some photographs to show y'all. We're scheduled to shoot Dec 16 - 20 and are in the process of arranging logistics and assembling our final crew. I'm happy to announce, to no surprise of those who know me, that Stephen Ringer will be the director of photography of the film. Raúl Fernandez has joined as our Gaffer and Cliff Thenard as our 1st AC. I feel very fortunate to have these guys aboard, and there are some equally exciting people slated to join as well!
So as not to abuse the Kickstarter platform, though, I will be moving my updates to http://theargumentfilm.com -- the Artists' Community is still accepting submissions and the Argu-blog is going to get fired up as we approach principle photography. Feel free to stop by and check out the goings on.
I've enclosed some photos from TWO SUMMERS AGO, which we shot in San Francisco and Big Sur for 8 days last month-- I hope you enjoy them!
Thanks again, and much much love,
Clara

Posted project update #8THANK YOU -- Time to Make a Movie :)
Post CommentDearest donors,
It is difficult to believe we made it. Every once in a while I am reminded that all of YOU actually took the initiative and time to donate to MY film. As such, it is rendered OUR film, and I am so moved to be sharing it with you all. THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. Truly. My gratitude is ineffably great. Thank you, a million times.
Please enjoy this photograph I've taken with my sidekick, Picchu, as a small gesture of said gratitude. Expect a more personalized electronic thank you as the days pass.
To stay updated with the progress of the film, please visit us at http://theargumentfilm.com . In the Fall we'll launch the members-only forum/website with updates/photos as we get closer to shooting (and from the set, as well!), so stay tuned for that. The Artists' Community will also continue to grow (email us to contribute!).
Until then, some housekeeping--
If you donated at the $30 level or higher and wish to claim your personalized list of film recommendations, go ahead and email contact@theargumentfilm.com and let us know!
If you donated at the $35 level or higher, please send your mailing address to contact@theargumentfilm.com sometime in the future to receive your DVD copy (though, no rush-- we have to shoot the film, first! The DVDs won't likely be done until mid-2011). We'll try to send out a reminder notice then.
My goodness-- it's time to make a film now! How challenging that reality is to grasp, at times. As R. W. Fassbinder said-- "The more real things get, the more like myths they become."
Thank you for making OUR film a reality/myth :)
