Post CommentThanks Thanks Thanks to all the great folks who supported CicLAvia expansion via our recent Kickstarter campaign. Thanks to each and every one of you, CicLAvia raised $11,000 which will go to signage, printing, coordination, outreach, y mas y mas, to make CicLAvia free and wonderful on Sunday October 9th 2011. We're really excited for the upcoming event - it's gonna be better than ever - ten miles of smiles! We hope you feel proud that your contribution makes CicLAvia possible!
If you gave us your information by mid-day last Friday, your premiums (bag, button, stickers) are in the mail today. If you haven't filled out your information, please do it right away... and we'll get the remaining premiums in the mail later this week.

Thanks to all our wonderful Kickstarter supporters we made and shot past our goal of $5000! Every dollar we raise helps ensure CicLAvia's success in 2011 and beyond.

CicLAvia is gearing up for multiple CicLAvias in 2011! Our first event will be April 10th 2011 - with additional events tentatively July/August and September/October.

commented on a project@Micheael - Thanks for your comment/question. CicLAvia is a partnership between the city of the Los Angeles and the non-profit organization CicLAvia. The city covered about $150K in city costs, mostly for traffic officers and traffic planning. The non-profit covered nearly $100K in event costs - including everything from publicity, signage, printing, outreach, permitting, design, staffing, freeway off-ramp closures, porta-potties, and more. CicLAvia raises funds from foundations, sponsors, and individuals. If you have other questions, let us know.
