Posted project update #5Funding Canceled; here's why, and here's what you can do...
Post CommentHi Wonderful People!
Thanks for coming and for wanting to know what the heck is going on...
I have canceled the funding for the South Dakota Phyllis Project. I've been dealing with a huge life shift, moving from New York to Denver, and a chronic pain condition that hasn't allowed me to give the project my full attention; the attention which it deserves.
Also, I've realized that I've gone about the project all wrong. It's definitely a book I want to write, but not now; my gut has been screaming at me that this is just not the right time for that book. I realized I was unfocused and not as inspired for it as I should be because the book I really want to write first is quite different and much more focused. It's also more interesting to the masses and from what I've learned, it's the book desired by you: the readers, the foodies, the home-cooks and the supporters.
SO! I've launched another project that I think you, and everyone else, will relate to much more than the South Dakota Phyllis book. Of course, she's the reason I became a chef in the first place, so she'll always be the inspiration for everything I do related to food, but this book is the one I feel I'm meant to write first, and the one that I've had in the back of my mind for years now.
WHAT CAN YOU DO NOW? You can pledge to this new project instead! For the new project, your credit card won't be charged for 59 days from today if it's fully funded, and I've lowered my goal significantly. Although the new project is launched, (because I had to launch it while the other one was still active) I've given it a 60 day funding period. This is because it will give me a chance to make a new video and get all my ducks in a row before alerting the masses. But if you choose to pledge to this new cookbook project, it will give me a great start when I'm ready to let everyone else know about it. Until then, you're the only ones who know. That's pretty cool; it's our secret!
HERE'S THE NEW LINK: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/chefkendra/be-your-own-personal-chef-a-cookbook-that-shows-yo
Check it out. I think you'll like it.
Thanks again for your pledges. I'm so lucky to have supporters like you.
Love,
Kendra

Posted project update #2New Reward!
Hi Everybody!
I've added a new reward slot. For $20 you get a copy of the book when it gets published!
If you pledged $10, you can increase it to $20 and get the book for it!
Lastly, if you would kindly send the link to my project page to anyone you know who loves food, cooking, the Midwest or just likes to help out people in need of funding, please do! Even if you think I already sent it to them, I don't have everyone's information although I wish I did.
Thanks so much for your support!
All my best,
Kendra

Posted project update #1TWELVE DAYS AND COUNTING!
Post CommentOkay everybody! The kickstarter page is up and the donations are rolling in. I want to give a huge thank you to the nine people who jumped on the Prairie Party Train right away to donate. I also want to give a huge thank you to all the people; friends, family, supporters, who've helped the cookbook become something special in the making.
Here's a photo of the recipe box that started it all. Thanks for coming here, and thanks for all your help and support in advance.
This is gonna be the best!!!
XO
Kendra
