    NEW INCENTIVE TO GET INVOLVED!

I've been brainstorming ways to get fans more active with this project. As of this moment we're 21% funded with 20 days to go, 63 backers involved. The dilemma is that we are significantly behind schedule and it's time to get serious if we want to see this project succeed. Ideally we should be around the $10,000 mark about now.

So, here's a new incentive to get more involved : )

If we reach 100 backers by Friday, November 12th I will add on a bonus disc of covers, b-sides, and demos from the "Snapshots" sessions to every pledge over $15. There are already 63 of you, so if each person who has already pledged gets one more person involved we could easily reach this mini-goal. If you are reading this update and haven't backed at all yet, well, here's a new reason to avoid delaying!

Let's work together and get this project flowing, hopefully another 40+ backers will get us on the right track! Repost this short link on your social networks to spread the word: http://kck.st/9YaqBi

    Thanks everyone!
    - Brad

In short: 100 backers by November 12th = much more music for everyone

    "Snapshots" Pre-Order FAQ's

Hey guys welcome to my first project update for the "Snapshots" album pre-order project. I've been getting a lot of similar questions sent to me so I wanted to clear up some confusion by answering them all in one place, so here we go...

Q: Will the next album be new material or will you be re-recording old stuff again?

A: "Snapshots" will be an entire new album of all new material

Q: So you plan to record this album while traveling on the road?

A: Yep! Part of the money we raise will go towards portable recording equipment so I can record virtually anywhere I want! Having the tools will not only allow me to record new material in unique places, but it will allow me to record AS MUCH as I want, which means I could potentially record several albums this way, not just one! I'm ready to deliver new content to you guys as often as I can so if I can get the funds together for the equipment I will have the freedom to do so.

Q: I don't have the money right now, when's the deadline?

A: The goal is to raise the full $20,000 by November 30th. NOBODY GETS CHARGED ANYTHING UNTIL NOVEMBER 30TH. Essentially your pre-order is just a pledge that you will have the money by that date. So, you do not have to wait if you know you will have the money by November 30th. Also, it's very important to remember that Kickstarter is "all or nothing" so if we don't raise the full amount by the deadline the whole thing is void, nothing happens! No money for me, no credit card charges to you, no new Five Times August album, nuttin', zip, nada!

    Q: Can I make a pledge suggestion?

A: You sure can. I want this project to succeed and if you think you would be willing to pledge more if there were other incentives not offered on the main page let me know and we'll work something out! As ideas are sent to me I may be adding a few more tiers. I will send out an update if any new offers are added.

Q: $20,000 is a lot of money, why do you need it!?

A: It is absolutely a lot of money, you are right! But it takes a lot of money to record, produce, and manufacture an album. Most of the time it takes much more than the amount I'm asking for, too! Basically this amount will provide enough financing to get the proper equipment to record the album, get it manufactured (for those that still buy physical copies of albums!), get t-shirts, buttons, stickers made, and also have enough left over for a little bit of promotion so I can let the world know about my new album.

Q: What's the Fender Music Foundation?

A: The Fender Music Foundation was created to provide funding and resources for music programs across America so that kids and adults alike will have an opportunity to experience the joys of music. They also educate the public on the value of a musical education. If we reach the $20,000 goal by November 30th I plan to donate 20% of album profits from the "Snapshots" album next year. This is my way of giving back to the music community (and community in general!). I believe in the message and mission of FMF and hope to help them fulfill their vision.
