BOA 2012: We Made Our Kickstarter Goal! Thank you!

    Dear BOA Supporters!

Yesterday, at 1:50 pm, with 4 hours to go on our Kickstarter campaign, we made our goal of 9,999.98!!  And the pledges kept coming in until our 6 pm deadline.  The final tally: $10,275.33!!!

We are still shaking our heads in disbelief.  We had an ambitious, some might even say, an audacious goal.  And we made it!!!  Thanks to YOU!

The BOA Festival would like to thank you with sincere gratitude and mad love!  We could not have done it without every single one of you, all 214 of you!!!

This is truly community-supported theater.  BOA is a community action.  10 local companies, over 80 local artists, supported by the larger community. Your support sends a message to our community that local, independent theater made collectively by the community and for the San Francisco community is truly valuable.

Now...on to the show!  We open a week from today.  Can't wait to share the festival with all of you!  Learn more at our website: www.bayoneacts.org

We will be in touch asap to fulfill rewards!  If you have questions for us, please email bayoneacts@gmail.com.  We will be in touch with more updates as we get closer to the show.

With mad love and endless gratitude,

Jessica Holt, Artistic Director, BOA 2012

BOA 2012: 5 Days Left and $5000 To Raise!

    Dear BOA 2012 Kickstarter Backers,

Thank you so much for your pledge of support to the 2012 BOA Festival.  We are so proud of the work the BOA Festival is showcasing this year:  adventurous, original short plays produced by some of the most exciting, local independent theater companies in the San Francisco Bay Area.

We have 5 days left on our Kickstarter campaign and we still need to raise 50% of our goal.  We need your help!

You are someone who already believes in our project and the extraordinary value of a theater festival that brings together local artists from diverse backgrounds to collaborate and create one incredible event.

We need you to help us broaden our network and let more people know about the project and our fundraising needs.  We are appealing to you to send our Kickstarter link out to your own community and let them know about the BOA Festival.

    Here is the link:

    www.kickstarter.com/projects/boa-x/boa-2012-the-bay-one-acts-festival

A couple of things to know:

    • We set our campaign goal high this year because we would LOVE to pay all our over 80 theater artists.  In years past, the BOA Festival have been able to only pay a percentage of those involved with our event, and this year, we would like to change that.

    • Our ticket sales only cover the cost of space, materials, marketing, publishing, and a small percentage of artist compensation.  The other 50% comes from the support from people like you.

    • A pledge of support sends a message to our community that local, independent theater made collectively by the community and for the San Francisco community is truly valuable.

    • If we don't meet our goal, we don't get any of the money thus far raised.

Thank you for your help making adventurous, original theater happen.

    Most sincerely,

Jessica Holt, Artistic Director, Bay One Acts Festival 2012
